This hotel occupies the third floor of Terminal 1, just a single floor. It is very convenient if you have an overnight or long daytime layover between flights (provided one or both arrive/depart in Terminal 1), but definitely NOT the place to stay if you plan to visit Mexico City or surroundings. We stayed overnight on a 24-hour layover between LAX and SCL, and again for a daytime stay on the way back. On the first occasion, we were in an executive suite, which was very roomy, comfortable, and had decent amenities. On the way back, we were in a standard King room, which was standard size, perfectly decent in most respects. The big negative is that the rooms are interior rooms, with no outside view or natural light, and the lighting in the ceiling of the rooms is fluorescent and really bothers the eyes. We wound up with headaches and had to open the curtains to let artificial light from the airport in, turn on a couple of floor lamps and occupy the room in dim lighting, or we would have been nauseous. In addition, when we arrived in the standard King room, it was frigid. We turned off the air conditioning, and then a foul sewer-like smell filled our room. We had to turn the ventilation system on for a while to clear the air, and then it was ok. The breakfast buffet in the small lobby restaurant offers a decent selection of fruit, breads, cereals and hot foods, and our lunch there on the second visit was good. Service was very polite and professional. Next time, if we have a similar layover, I will try the Camino Real directly across the street (and walkable) from Terminal 1 or the new Marriott Courtyard, but only after I check out the Trip Advisor reviews.
Get a room facing an indoor patio that allows a bit of natural light in through the ceiling.
