Owner description: Coyoacan, a former village and now one of the 16 boroughs of Mexico City, is a historic center. It is a popular place to visit, especially on weekends, because many of the original layouts, plazas and narrow streets have been preserved and date from the 16th to the early 20th centuries.

Nice little community with tons of shopping. Great variety of restaurants around and a nice safe area to walk and enjoy the local culture.

We walked from the Frida museum to the Saturday market - a fun way to spend a Saturday. Busy and safe neighborhood

“Make yourself at home here”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2013

This is a part of Mexico City with charm and panache. Frida's house, town squares, bustling markets, charming restaurants and churches, architectural gems and pleasant streets, all definitely worth exploring.

“Plenty of History”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 22, 2013

This is a must. Walk it, sit down on the side walk. look at the houses and little cafes. have breakfast and lunch here, there are little gallerias and little shops. Great photo ops in those small 200 year old streets. The Park is beautiful too.
The red tour bus also goes through there.

“Charm place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

A classic place to walk along old streets. Good ice cream parlors. The church worth a visit, specially the painting of the Last Supper on the ceiling which seems to turn while you walk. Do not miss the cloisters on the right side and look for the three corners whichnstill have the original roofs.
