“Wonderful place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2012

I was really surprised how nice this hotel was. A great location with Karisma and a 7-11 right around the corner.
Had dinner at the sushi bar and it was wonderful. A little pricy but the sushi chefs can really do great work with what they are given. The waitresses we not too knowledgable, so we are glad we sat at the sushi bar.
The room had a great bed that gave me a wonderful night sleep. A nice workstation was also nice to have.

I was on business and had to work several hours in my room. the desk and surrounding areas for great for this. The internet was fast and easy to set up, lighting was good and adjustable. Had lunch delivered, traditional tortilla soup and a club sandwich. It arrived within the time stated and very delicious. i was greeted by name at front desk and on all hotel phone calls. A very nice gym was located on the 3rd floor. room was very comfortable and the bathroom was well laid out with lots of counter space. Location is great for local eateries and the museums nearby. Breakfast in the hotel is laid out for buffet dining and learned the hard way ordering from the menu a mistake as it takes much much longer. Several car/taxi drivers work/hang out by the the hotel so i had the same drive twice which was very nice.
The lobby and rooms are very functional but if looking for a high design experience, this is not it. Just a good place to operate from.

Room Tip: Rooms that face the park are lovely - i was on the 20th floor and in room 2012. beware of the bells...

Stayed at the Hotel Nikko on the night before the end of our week-long trip to other parts of Mexico. The service at the hotel was first rate - front desk personnel were efficient, bellhops friendly, concierge service extremely helpful and most staff speak at least some English.

The location of the hotel - from a tourist perspective - is great as it right next to the wonderful Chapultepec Park and surrounded by many good restaurants.

We reserved a Superior King room. We stayed on the 31st floor. The room size was a little below average size but it had a good mini-bar with reasonable prices. The views from room 3120 were outstanding. The a/c worked very well. The room was very clean but we did find the bed to be too hard for our comfort - we did not sleep as well as we would have liked and my wife woke up with a sore neck.

If you have a few days to stay in Mexico this is a reliable place to stay.

Room Tip: The sushi at the Teppan Grill is not-to-be-missed! They made a custom salmon roll for us! Be sure...

Traveled to Mexico City and stayed at the Nikko again mainly due to its central location, allow about an hour to get from the airport to the hotel, even at late hours in the evening - there's traffic 24x7 in the city. This time stayed on a room above the 20th floor, nice rooms with different decor, very confortable.

The front desk doesn't exchange dollars to pesos, but they can pay for the taxi and charge it to your room, very convenient. The breakfast buffet available in the mornings has a lot of choices to choose from, never got sick from eating there. There are also several places to go eat for dinner within a couple of blocks distance; Hard Rock cafe, Spanish, Peruvian, Mexican and Argentinean restaurants - all five stars.

The hotel has a nice art collection in the lobby, including nice portraits and sculptures worth checking out. Once again the consistent quality of this hotel has been mantained and is a very good choice when working in Mexico.

The hotel looks like it was built in the 80s but the rooms are nice a freshly updated. Bathrooms are a little dark.

Had a horrible experience with the lobby concierge. Asked them to post some postcards. The response: "they sell stamps in the store over there.". Excuse me? I'm not asking for free stamps, I'm asking you to post them and I'll give you money. A manager stepped in to say they would take care of it, but the postcards never got there. A VERY simple request that was met with rudeness and an absurd response. Not five star service.

Otherwise most staff were lovely. But th e concierge should be the LAST place to encounter rudeness.

Room Tip: Only stay on the Nikko floors to avoid the mayhem in the lobby. Plus, the breakfast in t he morning...

For the type of Hotel I was expecting more from the little details - like the bath,
Nothing stylish or to remember (to say you enter and you feel in a 3-4 star hotel - not really want to take a bath there...).

Yes is in a good location in an expensive are and everything is nearby (lots of restaurants, boutiques, etc) but when it comes to the room for me was not as good as lets say the InterContinental next door - myb I got the less extravagant room... but didn't quite meet my expectations for that type of hotel.

We spent 3 days last month at this property. The service was impeccable and the staff most helpful. The music in the main bar could have been more soothing. The location of the hotel is absolutely great with wonderful shopping within walking distance. We shall stay there again when we return to D.F.
