“One of My Favorite Archaeological Digs and Museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2014

Second visit.... Love this site! Hired a guide at the Diego Rivera murals who agreed to give us a tour of the murals as well as the Museo del Templo Mayor. Fantastic. Made a big difference with the live narration with Q&A. (The first time I visited four years ago, I did not have a guide. It worked, but the right guide is best.)

“Fascinating insight into preHispanic Mexico City”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2014

Fascinating insight into the history of the city and its previous preHispanic incarnation. Coupled with a trip to the anthropology museum, which houses many of the original artefacts excavated from the Templo Mayor, you can learn an awful lot about the place as it was in past. Just a word - there will most likely be people outside trying to get you to pay for guide services but don't listen. The signs are in Spanish, as in many places in DF, but audio guides are available.

“Fantastic!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2014

Take the small street to the left side of the Metropolitan church to get to the entrance.

It's unfortunately most of the ruins are destroyed but there are quite a few interesting areas left. All signs have English.

The museum has a bunch of great pieces as well. Don't miss!

“good location, interesting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2014 via mobile

this is a very interesting place. i only did the ruins and did not enter the museum. we had a tour guide, wish it was in english to understand a little more but i read a bunch about it after. its very easy to get to, but parking is always a hassle. dont bring a stroller, its easier to leave it in the car! i want to return soon
