“Still a great restaurant after many, many years.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2015

Bellinghausen is a traditional restaurant that in spite of its non Mexican name, has a great menu including great Mexican dishes.
This restaurant has been operating for at least 50 years in what was once the very exclusive "Zona Rosa". Prices are reasonable and lunch out in the terrace is nice.

“Sometimes the best things stay the best. This is one.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2013

I've been eating at the Bellinghausen off and on since the early '70's and, if anything, it is better. Be aware, this isn't some hip, cutting edge restaurant. It's solid Mexican cooking, but not the kind you think of. This isn't a taco shop. This is where the better-off locals go for a late lunch on Saturday or during the business week. The roast suckling pig is superb, the roast goat is sublime. The lomo de puerco (a pork hock) is a meal for two (or three). The criadillas (beef testicles--really, they are excellent) are something you will tell your friends about. Old fashioned service by waiters who know their business and dress the part. Get there about 1:30 and request a garden table where the canaries and finches are in cages, the water splashes in the fountain, tiny doves search the ground for crumbs and everything is perfect. Postscript: I've been trying to outdo their sauerkraut for years, and they still have me beat!

“Enjoy the Steak Milanesa and the "Scenery"..........!!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2013

If you go order the steak milanesa which is some of the best in the city. While dining you can take in the scenery of all the geriatric businessmen out lunching and holding hands with their 20- something secretaries !!! Too funny !!!
