“Best Italian Restaurant in Mexico City”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2012

I live in Mexico City and visit this restaurant at least once a month. Simply put, there is no better Italian restaurant in Mexico; no doubt about it. Excellent dishes, excellent wine list and very good service. For locals it is hard to get a table without reservation and it has been like this for years, which says a lot. As is expected from any restaurant in Polanco it is on the expensive side, specially the wines, but it is not overpriced at all and the food is worth it.

“Good Food and popular with locals”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2012

Good food, expensive wine list and prompt service.
The waiter required us to pay a service charge of 15%, was not happy with 8%, which was odd. He followed us out of the resturant to request for more. ODD? Mgt needs to look into this.

“Not bad, but overrated”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2011

I have been to Bellaria quite a few times and I think I can safely say it is a good restaurant, but that's it. It's not the best Italian restaurant in the world. It's not the best Italian restaurant in Mexico City. It's not even the best Italian restaurants in Polanco. The reason I'm saying that is that sometimes it acts as such, and some people tend to treat it as such. Well, it is not. But it isn't bad either. Not at all.

The restaurant itself is small, cramped and often loud. The wine list isn't bad, but isn't extensive: it focus on Italian options. The food is good. Some options are very good. They are not to die for, however.

All in all, one tends to leave Bellaria satisfied (as I have done many times), but it is far from being a life changing experience.
