Description: During colonial times la Hacienda de los Morales was located on the outskirts of Mexico City, but today it is within its confines, only a short distance from the exclusive hotels, museums and shops of Polanco. This stately mansion, a recipient of numerous awards including the 5 Diamond and the Dirona Awards, and the Executive Chef Alejandro Heredia Resendiz named Mexican Chef of the 20th Century by the Cullinary Academy of France, transports visitors to another era in a refined atmosphere where the hospitality and service make every moment a memorable one. In addition to the international menu with Mexican specialties, there are several Gastronomic Festivals each year with the participation of such outstanding establishments as I Chiostri di Firenze, Las Ventanas al Paraiso, The Lobster Festival Puerto Nuevo Style, and Il Milanese Curioso. This formal restaurant is open except Easter week and official Holidays. Gentlemen are required to wear a jacket and tie after 6:00 pm.

“A delightful experience in Mexico City”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2013 via mobile

The restaurant is in an impressive farmhouse in the middle of Polanco. Everything is beautiful. We tried many appetizers and entrees. We started with escamoles, ant eggs; they were great! The huitlacoche soup was exquisite. The chiles nogados were different, but delicate; if you decide to try them, I recommend sharing with a friend, because it is too much food for one person. We also tried the shrimp wit huitlacoche; delicious. The atmosphere was beautiful with live music and outstanding service. It is a perfect place for large parties.

“Quality of food and presentation doesn't live up to the beautiful site”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2013

It's widely believed in Mexico City that Hacienda de Los Morales is a disappointment these days. Dishes are just average, on the whole. Escamoles (ant larvae) are delicious, but many dishes are not thoughtfully prepared. It's a glorious old hacienda, and the bar at the entrance is just magical. A beautiful cart arrives with special tequilas, with an expert to explain them. But overall, lunch and dinner are over-priced. Locals don't go for the food. I personally object to the piano, as well, with trite American choices that just give away the tattered, thoughtless management of this DF treasure - too bad! (I'm reviewing several visits, couple, family, and business, over the last 8 months.)

“An oasis in Mexico City”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2013 via mobile

La Hacienda de los Morales is a must visit in Mexico City. Walking into this old style Mexican farm house you will easily forget that you are in the center of the largest metropolis in the Americas. The atmosphere is perfect, the service is correct and the food is very good.
