I was recommended by a friend and I was not disappointed at all, the hotel is hip and chic and good for couples and business travelers.
The food is good too and the service was top notch .

Highly recommended

This was my first trip to Mexico, and after this stay, certainly not my last. I arrived with friends to Hotel Demetria Thursday morning for a long weekend stay and was taken from the moment we walked in. The architecture and vibe of the place is awesome! The building is nearly all glass, which made for a feast for the eyes- from the glass elevator, massive lobby to your room, the light and feel of the hotel was so cool.

From check-in until check-out, my stay was fabulous. The young, good looking, dialed-in staff took care of our every need. The service was prompt and they over delivered constantly. The breakfast buffet was simple yet cultural, coffee excellent and margarita's at the bar, as you'd expect, perfect!

I had a junior suite that was spectacular. Floor to ceiling wall of windows, fluffy, comfortable bed with great linens and all important pillows. The room was simple, yes headed ever need and not over the top. The dark concrete floors made it feel cozy and complimented the furniture well. The waterfall shower was awesome and the tub could have doubles for a mini hot tub.

The meals we had were great and though we never had dinner there, the apps were delicious!

I never thought I'd want to come back to Guadalajara, but after out visit to Casa Herradura and the Demetria hotel, let me tell you, me and my friends will be back! I highly recommend this hotel and can't wait to get back here!

I just came back from a very relaxing enjoyable trip to Guadalajara, Mexico. Hotel Demetria was a huge part of making my experience amazing being a full service hotel you practically don't ever have to leave. The service is impeccable, super attentive, and ready to serve you in anything you need. I loved the pool with the great music, and the delicious ice lollipops they would serve casually during the day. If I could say what makes this hotel stand out is the STAFF, they made us feel like we were home. I highly recommend it.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a patio that gets good lighting.

A beautiful looking property with surprises around every corner. The rooms are generous and stunning, the rooftop pool and lounge area a tranquil paradise, the kitchen serves up modern local and international fare and the staff couldn't be more helpful. Highly recommended.

The Demetria has got to be one of most fascinating modernist hotels. the building itself is stunning. The rooms apparently are all different and vary from the normal hotel room to very large duplex penthouse suites. The restaurant is super ... not only for the wonderful breakfast but for any meal. We had a special Valentine's Day menu that was great and enjoyed a truly wonderful Mexican red wine on the recommendation of the sommelier. The building also has a bookstore devoted to art and travel and a small gallery. The location in the heart of Colonia Lafayette makes it perfect for a walking tour of early 20th century architecture including several notable buildings by Luis Barragán.

Just returned from a long weekend stay at the Demetria. Gorgeous, striking hotel, with very friendly staff (truly sweet), in a quiet location near many restaurants, shops, etc. Not only that, the food is outstanding, and so are the cocktails. You have to be prepared for the experience, though. Like many boutique-y design hotels, the Demetria just doesn't have the resources to achieve across-the-board perfection. This isn't the Peninsula Beverly HIlls; you're not going to get nightly turn-down service or be able to order food 24 hours a day (although the front desk people WILL volunteer to make a late-night run to a nearby taqueria for you, as they did for us). The Demetria is idiosyncratic, highly individual and occasionally odd, with architecture that flirts with brutalism and rooms that are striking to behold but sometimes a little unwieldy actually to stay in, but as an exercise in boundary-pushing, trend-forward hospitality the Demetria succeeds rather brilliantly. The room rates are very reasonable, too, at least this time of year, and while some of the food and drink charges can be hefty (you'll pay two hundred pesos for a bar of organic chocolate in your room), everything I ate and drank was high quality and meticulously wrought. Another thing I liked about the Demetria was how nice the public spaces are; it's a great hotel to find a private place to read, work or just people watch. One more comment about the rooms: The showers are excellent! I'll definitely return.

Room Tip: The rooms, even within a particular category, are highly individual in layout, so if you're not...

This is a great place, just a short taxi drive (or easy walk) away from the very centre of Guadalajara.

Great service, excellent food (both the breakfast that was included there, and we had dinner there too). Lovely large rooms with fantastic showers & comfy beds, and a nice rooftop pool area. Definitely recommended for couples, and anyone who doesn't mind being a bit out of the centre of town.
