“Clean, safe, peacefull, well located, nice staff, deserve better rating?”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2012

Please take the time reading my notes re. my rating before excluding this place from your shorlist! I mean it: Maybe my 3 stars only rating is not really fair, but in my own particular case the unreliability of the acces to internet has been very inconvenient. Out of a week at least two days without access. And if I did not need internet 24 x 7, I would have rated this place 4 stars, maybe even 5. ( And my apology to the staff if they read this review. )
Now the very good points:
1 - I felt I was in safe area, I had no worries walking about in nearby streets in daylight on my own. ( That said, another one can always be unlucky anywhere ... )
2- It is very close to city center where a taxi will only take you about 15 min. and cost you about 4 Eur outside rush hour.
3 - Proximity of supermarket ( about 200 metrees ) where you will have considerable choice of foods. At the time of writing, this is called Superama and is located at the roundabout joining the streets "Aztecas" and "Manuel Acuna".
4 - It is very quiet which means one can rest properly when needed. And I found the matress very supporting for the back and neck and not sinking which is another important factor for a good rest.
5 - The presence of a kitchenette allows to cook own meals which is a bonus if you suffer food intolerances for instance, otherwise it will also save you money if you are on a budget. But beware, nor cooking, nor washing up are included in the price, you would have to pay extra.
6 - The environment is really great: it is set in a beautiful park with trees and lawns, the cottages are well spaced out from one another there is no building really overlooking your plot which is good if Madam wants to sunbathe in semi privacy.
7 -The staff is very nice and obliging, trying to make your stay as best as it can be .
8 - If you like dining out there are plenty of realy nice restaurants and bars to choose from.
9 - Although the cottage I had was very dated, I noticed they are in the process o gutting them one by one, and I imagine they get as nice inside as they are outside, and perhaps if book in advance ( unlike myself ) you maybe able to avail of them.
10 - Again unlike myself, If you are happy to limit your internet usage to 9 a.m. until 10 pm and not need full privacy like with telephony via skype, then there are plenty of cafes and bars that will give you access to internet thrown in with your beverage costs.
11 - Pricewise, it is not cheap ( 1,500 pesos for one night or 8,000 for the week, 20,000 for amonth ) but to me safety and other aspects as listed above have no price, just a pity about the internet where they seem to suffer from the poor service of the local provider....
12 - There is a pool but I have no tried it.
Do not hesitate to book this place if you do not need access to internet at all times.

Room Tip: Ask for an already renovated cottage, if none available they all look as good as each others.

It's not a modern place but is in a safe neighbourhood. What I love is that you get a self-contained 1 bedroom cottage to yourself (no sharing walls). The only downfall is no air-conditioning so I wouldn't stay there during the Summer. The kitchen is VERY limited but a modern supermarket is just a block away (just exit the gates, cross the road to the street in front of you and walk one block). They provide drinking water for your suite.
Staff don't really speak english but the lady who stays overnight does. You pay a deposit for your key and TV remote (which you have to ask for). Has cable TV with lots of American english-speaking shows and apparently internet connection.
We stayed in suite close to the reception and away from the main road. By the looks of things this place gets busy so book ahead.

Charming little cottages - excellent for families looking for long-term accommodation. Our family of 4 stayed there for 6 months. There's a pool, surrounded by tall stone walls and canyon. The whole compound is walled, with grassy lawns where we played wuffle ball. We had a kitchen, dining room, living room, patio, 1 bedroom, with maid service daily, carport, gateman. It might be hard to get into - book early.

When we stayed there it was "Suites" Margarita. It is a very unique place, in that the rooms are actually cottages separated by grassy garden. They are all one-bedroom with two double beds, but some people put an extra bed for kids in the very large walk-in closet. (It has a small window.) There are usually families there, because there is room to play in the grass. The pool is down the hill, a little hike on a large, grassy ramp. It is all about 5' deep. The cottages have a living room, dining room and small but separate kitchen. They are situated in such a way that each one has privacy. We really liked it here! We needed a place to receive guests for meals. The kitchen tools were pretty rudimentary, but with a good saute pan and a wok from home, I did fine. I don't know the present price, but it should compare with a very nice apartment.
