“Modern area and hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013

Modern hotel, with friendly, dependable service in a nice area of the city, awash with sleek, modern buildings. Good on-line discounts in advance (and for in-house restaurant consumption). Part of a verticle mall with downstairs restaurants, cafés, chocolate shop, Argentinian restaurant, casino, sandwich shop, bank, Carl Jr., movies theater, etc. Good country-style seafood/meat restaurant next door. Starbucks 1 block away next to a more expensive hotel. From the other opinions here, it's what you would expect from an international chain. Good buffet breakfast: several fresh juices (try especially the local citric "lima" juice), fruit, sweet rolls, Mexican & international dishes.

A shame they don't have an arrangement for free or discounted parking with the mall parking. 30-meter stretch with no roof (when it rains) on the way to parking area. But, hotel personnel kind enough to lend us umbrellas for New Year's Eve drizzle. Non-existant (2-chair) entrance lobby, so families have to rendez-vous at TV and Internet-computer area to one side of restaurant. Info-card offers 4 types of pillows, but it took a few tries to, finally, not get one for a stomach sleeper. Put "Do not disturb" sign on outside door handle...or maid may disturb you somewhat early.

Room Tip: All modern...you can't go wrong.

The NH Guadlajara is among the best hotels I have stayed in on my trips in the Americas. The room was top spot modern, very spacious and spotlessly clean, with all the mod cons you may expect from a hotel in this category. Service was excellent throughout, and the staff very helpful.
Breakfast was excellent, offering authentic Mexican dishes which changed every morning during my 10-day stay.
The NH is situated in the Punto Sao Paulo shopping and entertainment area, but there is no disturbance from noisy punters at night. A taxi stand is just 50 metres away, which makes commuting into town or to and from Zapopan quite easy.
Definitely a hotel to return to!

Room Tip: Try to get a corner room on a high floor for added views.

NH is a world chain with hotels of different categories, but all of them assuring that the guest will have a pleasant stay. NH Guadalajara Collection is on the high categories, with all the facilities and conveniences of the 4 and 5 stars hotels. Pleasant and large room, classy and confortable equipments, spotless free internet, and all the good to see things we like in a good hotel. Highly recommendable.

Great overall hotel, fantastic location. It is within a shopping center/ plaza that has great restaurants it is very alive. I have stayed in many hotels in Guadalajara from small boutiques to the older classics and this is my new favorite. I was luck as I was upgraded to a larger room, not necessarily a suite but definitely large with a corner that has almost like a large balcony feel with windows from floor to ceiling. Large tv but the reception was a bit poor my guess is they don't have the HD package. The bathrooms are also large and comfortable with a very large shower. The amenities are ok. The service was also great. The only weird part is that if you need cash (coming from overseas it sometimes cheaper to pay the commission that the multiple fx changes) they only give you money for cabs but you still need to pay a commission. Other than that a great stay.

The NH is a very modern hotel in the business district of Guadalajara. To say it is divine is an understatement. We viewed some rooms before committing and got a great deal on a corner suite with floor to ceiling glass walls with amazing views from the seventh floor over the local country club, the city, and even to the mountains in the distance. The bed was more comfortable than my own at home and the bathroom with walk in shower was wonderful. What makes a good hotel great is its staff and here the NH scored very highly. The breakfasts as documented by a previous reviewer are awesome. I am ashamed to say we ate about five courses every morning. There is fresh fruit, yoghurts, pastries, cakes, french toast, bocadillos, cereal and then the tureens of Mexican food. The tamales, oh my goodness, a new discovery and how delicious were they!! There is a young chef in a separate station cooking eggs, pancakes and omelettes - whatever you want. I don't know his name but he loves GB football and we had a great conversation about Manchester and the rain (which he said he wouldn't mind at all!!!). Try to get him to cook your omelette as he does make the best ones I've ever eaten - I did tell him too! The other waiting staff at breakfast could not have been more helpful. Coffee is poured as soon as you have a table and they tried to repress their bewilderment when I asked for Earl Grey tea. After one false start, they managed to locate some and it was there ready for me every morning thereafter. Ramon on the main desk helped us immensely with all our requests - from organising a wonderful day out in Tlaquepaque to making sure a friend received flowers at her home address. He also changed our room on checking in from one side of the hotel to the other as he felt it had a better view. The infrastructure of the hotel is gorgeous, all cream and beige marble with a very pleasant seating area outside where you can take a coffee after breakfast. My only reservation of this hotel is that they are so busy with conferences and meetings almost every day that you are sometimes moved on from outside in order for them to set up. To be fair though, we were finishing our breakfast at about 12 every day. NH Guadalajara - I can't wait to come back!!

Room Tip: All we viewed seemed good to be but the corner suites are spectacular.

I've stayed at this hotel in Punto Sao Paulo numerous times and my experience has always been excellent. The hotel is only a few years old and everything is in very good condition. The staff is friendly and accomodating. The restaurant is quite good - with a very nice breakfast buffet with eggs to order, savory Mexican dishes, fresh fruit, breads and cheeses, etc. And with the other restaurants, shops, movie theater and casino in the same complex, there are many options for dining and entertainment within steps of the hotel front door.
