“Good location but the hotel is beginning to show its age”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2010

As a Hilton Honnors member I stay in many Hilton Hotels in many countries being this hotel one of the 2 I may not stay again. One must for me is “air conditioning” if I can’t get the temperature down to comfortable level I won’t rest. I was informed that the air systems at this hotel are air cooled and not air conditioning. I just didn’t cool enough for me. Otherwise the room is great but it is beginning to show its age. The bed is very comfortable. The lobby area is very spacious.

I didn’t have a good experience at the restaurant, the service though friendly was extremely slow and the food was not that good. There are newer hotels I will try in my next visit to Guadalajara.

This Hilton certainly does not match north american or european hiltons or hilton standards. the hotel is old and showing its age. Do not pay standard (higher) hilton rate for this hotel. the air conditioner in my room did not work and when it did it sounded like a small plane taking off. service was ok. food was ok but expensive for no real reason. the "steak house" restaurant was very expensive - not a value. no view from my room. executive lounge is OK and convenient but nothing special.

We stayed here with our 4 year old son. The rooms were very comfortable and everyone was extremely nice and helpful. They remembered who we were by name on second day. The only issue we had was some very loud and rude people next to us partying late at night, it took 2 calls to security for them to act on it, but otherwise service was great. And, being that we were in a foreign country we really enjoyed the super comfortable beds. And very nice fitness center too.

The Hilton Guadalajara has very nice views. We were on the 12th floor, in a corner room and the view of the city was fabulous. The room itself was nice and pretty luxurious, comfortable beds with down comforters and feather pillows. The bathroom very much lacked ventilation. I am not sure if this is standard for high-rise hotels with zero natural ventilation but the fan made absolutely no noise. We were told that the fans are not supposed to make any noise and that it was in fact working but in truth the whole room and large window steamed up any time someone bathed. Reception (Saul) was very kind and allowed us the option of changing rooms. A bellboy appeared within 10 minutes with the new key- very nice service! Also, when we asked for an extra towel and shampoo the items were brought immediately. Maintenance came to check the fan and was also very professional and helpful. We decided to stay in our room when we realized that the corner rooms are much larger and that the new room also seemed to have nonexistent ventilation. The television was not a flat-screen. We did not try the room service or restaurants, there is too much good food in Guadalajara to eat at the Hilton :) For business travelers who want a local taste, there is an excellent taco stand right around the corner from the hotel (facing out of the hotel, left one block, look to your right, there it is). I can't imagine paying for the Angus Steak House, even as a business traveler the prices are exhorbitant.

*The double beds really are double, not full, not queen-sized. They are barely big enough for two people to cozy up.

Overall a very nice hotel, far from downtown. A very rude person attended us on the Guest Service line (with regard to the ventilation) before we were transferred to Saul, the only downside to our stay. Perhaps they should look into who was working on this line on the night of the 15th of January.

Nice Hilton. Very good price. First class concierge services. Very comfortable rooms. The Angus restaurant was decent, not spectacular. Overall a good hotel. Breakfast package booked on line with king room was great deal.

The Hilton in GDL is a very nice and good hotel. I recommend to book a room on the Executive Level which is located on the top 2 floors of the Hotel. I booked a room on that level and was very happy with the service that i got from the staff. It offers free breakfast and free snacks all day long. The rooms are clean. The only thing that i can say that i was was missing at this hotel is that they do charge for Wireless and Wired internet.
