“Need to keep up with the upgrade!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2013

I reaerved at the hilton because of two main things: it is very excellent located in front of the Guadalajara Expo, and last time I was there A year ago, I received an upgrade to an executive floor (being HHonor Silver) without a cost , and the room was simply gorgeous. but this time eventhought now I am gold, the said they "upgraded" me to the eight floor, but rooms were not as nice as the previous ones. In fact I stayed two years ago in a better room that was not in Club level. The carpet start to show the age. And the sofa look in mediun conditions. TV signal was very very bad. But bed was very comfortable and clean, the same with the bathroom and towels. But they need to invest to keep the good quality, as the westin, camino real and the hampton are in walking distance! Also my levels' amenities were not in the room. But the price was very good for the hotel.

This facility has incredibly friendly, knowledgeable staff. They are always helpful without question. The facilities could use some work. While not horrendous in any way, some of the guest bathrooms are not in the condition that I would expect from Hilton. Overall, a safe, decent place to stay.

This Hilton is located across the street from the Guadalajara Expo. It's situated in a safe area. This hotel offers a very safe and secure atmosphere. Wonderful service in the concierge! Enjoyed my free breakfast thanks to my Hilton Honors membership in the executive lounge. The hotel has two great places to eat at and a nice bar too. You can get a taxi within seconds and they can drive you anywhere for a reasonable fee. My room was very comfortable and clean too!

Room Tip: The concierge at this hotel is fantastic!! If you are in need of anything, they will help you find...

This hotel is right across the street from the convention center, and although there are not many restaurants nearby to choose from, the Angus Grill inside the hotel is a good place to eat.
The concierge has been very helpful. Everyone is very nice and friendly, going out of their way to make sure you are taken care of.

Room Tip: I stayed on the 8th floor opposite the convention center and it was very quiet.

-- Pros --
* Quiet room, comfortable bed, nice furnishings
* Unusual, but workable bathroom design
* A complimentary bottle of water was provided each day
* Lavish lobby & bar areas
* Adequate trinket and dry goods mini-markets adjacent to lobby
* Email center in lobby (free) and business center on 3rd floor (pay to play)
* Adequate Wifi - but make sure it is part of your package when you make the reservation
* Good cardio equipment in Gym

-- Cons --
* Frequently there were periods of no hot water from 6:15 to 6:45 AM
* The night shift front desk personnel were clueless regarding the "printeron.net" guest printing functions
* Had communication difficulties with the concierge. Trust, but verify. :)
* Angus restaurant is handy, but very expensive. And I did not care for the sub-woofer laden Hip-Hop music that was featured in the dining room.
* Early risers: don't plan on eating breakfast before 6:45AM in Los Vitrales restaurant.
* I never did figure out how to set the time on the whimsical alarm clock.

-- Facts --
* The operation of the room air conditioning is dependent upon presence of humans. I had to arise in the middle of the night and move around to convince the circuitry that I was still there.
* There are very few eating establishments in the vicinity. If you are willing to hike, you have a few choices. Taxis are reasonable and readily available for the more distant establishments.

Thank you very much for this very extensive comments. We are sorry to hear that you had communication problems with the front desk and have taken preventive actions in order to correct this item. On the other hand I would like to state that we have free transportation from and to the Hotel to 2 different shopping malls with restaurants.

For the breakfast we have two options, one is room service during 24 hrs. Of the day and the other is our Restaurant Vitrales opens at 6.30 A.M.

The ANGIUS restaurant is leased and is not part of the Hilton operation. We really do apologize for the occurred and hope to welcome you back soon to our hotel.

Sincerely

Peter M. Leder

I've stayed here many times, this latest trip in early May of 2013. Check-in is quick, lobby is large and clean, with a liguor bar, a wine bar, a casual restaurant(Los Vitrales), a trinket shop, a money exchange, and a fancier adult restaurant. Room Service is quick, and a very complete menu available. The Breakfast buffet at Vitrales has an extravagant selection of Mexican and American favorites, including a cooked to order section. Rooms are plenty big, with a desk and small sofa, and wireless works flawlessly in the rooms. Wall to ceiling Windows, but with thick curtains that keep the rooms very dark at night. The pillows are too soft for me, but I called the front desk, they had the maids provide me with firmer king sized foam pillows when the room was cleaned. The mattresses are OK, not the luxurious versions you might find in the U.S, but comfortable, and the bedding is soft and clean. My AC work great this time(had some problems with that in the past). It's right across the street form the convention center, and has many large conference rooms for business meetings. (some rooms hold hundreds of people). There is a strip mall and some restaurants within walking distance. (McDonalds, and Karnes Garibaldi are a 1-2 mile walk). they always provide 2 small bottles of water in the room daily. Summary: a great reasonably priced place to stay in the center of Guadalajara.

A very nice city hotel, a little bit outside of the center of Guadalajara, but just opposite to the expo. To commute it is recommended the rent a car. But driving is easy and the hotel offers parking facilities for a little money, There are not many restaurant around the hotel, but the breakfast offer from the hotel is ok. There is a nice pool avaiable and the rooms are standard rooms with all comfort.
