“Marmosets are so cool!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2009

Just returned from a pleasant trip to Tlaquepaque. The reason I chose this hotel is because it is pet-friendly, at no extra charge. The Hotel Casa Campos is charming - the rooms are small, but very clean. Our rate included continental breakfast, which consisted of coffee, juice, yogurt, fruit, and toast. You can also order from a menu. There is a nice bar on the premises as well, and Juan makes a mean martini! All of the staff were extremely helpful, and went out of their way to accommodate any needs I may have had. It is located in the center of Tlaquepaque, within walking distance of many shops and restaurants. The outdoor patio is filled with greenery, exotic birds, and marmosets! The monkeys are very friendly, and will walk right up to you and jump in your lap. It was fun! I would highly recommend this hotel.

It's a very pleasant place. The staff were uniformly helpful and friendly. The room was fine, but the best part were the Marmosets. My son loved them. I put a youtube video up at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WPH43ivjp1U

It was a highlight of our Mexico trip. Highly recommended.

We travel to Guadalajara at least once or twice a year and always stay at Casa Campos. It is small enough to feel intimate and yet not too small. The ambiance is very cheerful and we always feel very welcomed by the bi-lingual staff. We are animal lovers and appreciate the fact that we can bring our dogs if we are traveling with them.. We ADORE the monkeys in the patio.. Everyone is always courteous and helpful with whatever we have needed... taxi's, tickets to events... recomendations for things. We have gone on business and for pleasure and in every case it is just right for our needs. Tlaquepaque is a very elegant old colonial part of Guadalajara. Everything is easy to access by taxi from Casa Campos and yet it feels very friendly. One of Guadalajara's best restaurants ADOBE is just across the side street... and one half block away is major elegant and speciality shopping all on a pedestrian only historically protected promenade.

I visted Guadalajara for a few days last winter and stayed at Casa Campos. The rooms were comfy, the staff was helpful and the monkeys were fabulous. Also, you can't get much more central Tlalaquepaque than this place.

My husband and I decided to go for our honeymoon to Guadalajara and found it quite difficult to find something nice and warm as we stayed at two other hotels before trying casa campos.

My husband loves monkeys, it was a surprise for him finding this type of animals... the place is wonderful, the shower great!! the staff very helpful.

All around is peace and quiet.

Their only mistake...is the poor tv channel selection. no good.

  • Liked — The warmth of the place.
  • Disliked — TV channel selection

Very pleased and delighted with the hotel. It is small, clean and comfortable. Nice artwork on very colorful walls, beautiful patio with parrots and monkey's / marmosets that kept us entertained. I felt right at home. TLaquepaque neighborhood is wonderful to wander in and lots of restaurants and bars along with the local plaza down the street. The staff was helpful to get us transportation for shopping trips to the markets in Tonala and historical district downtown. It was perfect for me and my travel companions. The staff even arranged a Bus Trip for our friends to go to Manzanillo. Highly reccommend this small hotel for all who venture to Guadalajara.

This hotel had a definite style that was apparent as soon as you walked through the door. First of all the location is excellent. 1 block to the shops and just a couple more to El Parian. The colorful hotel boasts small, but nice rooms with good beds and nice bathrooms. They were air conditioned and had cable tv with a few English channels. There was a very comfortable bar attached to the hotel that was ideal for relaxing and recapping the days events. The bartenders pour healthy shots from a nice selection of tequilas and cigars are welcome. The BEST part of the hotel was the courtyard. It is pretty and green with tons of parrots and 2 groups of Marmosets to entertain you. The Marmosets that are not caged are very curious and followed us up the rails to our room that overlooked their courtyard area. There are also a couple of cats that laze around. This was fun for us but there was some noise that others might not have enjoyed as much as we did. I thought it was so much fun. The gardener/bellman/zoo keeper was kind and asked if I wanted to help feed the monkeys. I said "SI!" and had a blast helping him tend all the critters. Continental breakfast was included in the little cafe on the other side of the bar. This might not be for everyone but we loved it.

  • Liked — The cozy surroundings and the animals.
  • Disliked — If I had to say something negative, the only thing I could think of is the rooms a re bit small.
