“Mom, are you in the kitchen?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2013

That´s right ! Café Marina has the comfort food just like home. I go by for a good meal be it for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The menú?..... Mr. zfishman said it all.
Oh, let´s not forget to mention the ambience (mellow sound of the surf) and location which is right on the town boardwalk where you can watch the local fishermen selling their morning catch...and the shell market nearby.

“"Best American style breakfast in Zihua"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2013

After awhile, there comes a time, while traveling, you just need some home, comfort food. Well,
Joe's Cafe Marina fits the bill. Where else can you find blueberry pancackes, banana-walnut waffles or good old country sausage, eggs and home fried potatoes? Along with fresh squeezed orange or manderin juice.
Evenings vary from meatloaf and mashed potatoes, lasagna, BBQ pork ribs, fresh mahi-mahi or marlin and the best selection of pizzas in town. These are just a few of the nightly changing items on the menu board. But, if it is authentic Mexican food you want, they also have that.
Cafe Marina has been a favorite of the locals as well as foreign visitors for over 30 years, Joe must be doing something right. So, you won't go wrong by giving Cafe Marina a try.

“Nor a bad meal in 14 years”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2013

I first ate at "Joe's) AKA The Marina Cafe. in '99. I have not missed a year since. Excellent pizza, pasta, salads & fresh fish. His meat loaf Fridays are a tradition for the Ex-pats in town.
The breakfasts are the best in town & a real bonus is Joe's well stocked trading library. All you need to do is bring 4 or so books down with you to trade & you are set for the season.

“Perfect place to absorb a Zihua day!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2013 via mobile

A small restaurant in the middle of all the action. The perfect place to kick back and watch Zihua's character unfold before you.

I have never had a bad meal here and frequent this place a lot.. Food is freshly made for each order and, though simple, very tasty and priced well. Margharitas are 2 for 1 and yummy! Sevice is always attentive and English is spoken.

Don't be in a rush to dine and dash. There is so much to take in ... From the fishermen going about their daily tasks ... The harbour view ... Locals passing by, some carrying huge fish over their shoulders or in bicycle carts ... The 'Ice Men', delivering huge blocks of ice ... Wandering musicians who don't invade your space ... Dogs cruising the 'strip' ... Pelicans performing aerobatics ... Stay there long enough and you'll have a good feel for how Zihua 'ticks'.

Tip: Lengthen your stay by ordering a coffee from 'Cafecito' next door. A family run specialty coffee shop that blows the doors off any Starbucks I have ever gone to. They'll bring your order to Marina's tables but you have to pay them seperatley at their counter next door. (lattes run about $P 25)

An unpretentious little restaurant in, argueably, the most interesting location in Zihua ... Check it out for yourselves!

“Very good breakfast and good prices”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2013

This restaurant is owned by an ex-pat from the states who has lived in Mexico for some 40 years. He speaks fluent Spanish and English. He has a long list of daily breakfast specials that is sure to please anyone. I had two eggs, bacon and 3 blueberry pancakes with coffee for about $70 pesos. Pretty reasonable.

This restaurant is just off the fishing bay where the locals bring in the morning's catch. Very peaceful place. Great guitar music in the background.

While you are there, stop by the small store just to the left. Interesting hand-made rugs of all sizes. Even neat little 'Persian' rugs for coasters. Very cute.
