I don't need to repeat what the other positive reviews reported, but would definitely like to add the weight of another happy face to offset the ugly, unfortunate diatribe I just read on this page.
My family (married couple with two adult kids) just got home from Zihua (Note to Trip Advisor webmaster: Tree Tops is NOT in Ixtapa, it's south of Zihuatanejo. Ixtapa may as well be a different country). We spent a week at Jeffrey and Maggy's bucolic hideaway, handy enough to the attractions of Zihua but secluded from the ugliness that currenty plagues Mexico.
We were looking for a tropical vacation, with lots of sun and warmth, and a few activities to occupy our time beyond lazing on the beach. Tree Tops and Zihua delivered, with a capital D. Any guest with a flexible, friendly attitude will be enchanted with the rustic charm of both. Anyone looking for pampering or validation of their superiority should probably spend the extra several thousands of dollars and stay in Ixtapa.
A parting tip: If you reach out and communicate your personal needs and expectations to your hosts, you'll probably have them met. Or you'll learn at the outset that they can't be accommodated and will have the opportunity to find more appropriate accommodations. And you'll have a better vacation.
