Just got back from 5 days in Zihuatanejo. Fell in love with the town. This hotel is 10 minutes walk from the City Center and the last hotel on the South end before you have to climb the hill. It is located on both sides of the road. We stayed in a room on the 'other' side of the street, so we had to cross the street in order to get to the beach. Very quiet street, so no big deal. Both sides have a pool. There are plenty of lounges on the lawn above the beach, overlooking the water. The water is fairly shallow for a long ways out. Lots of little kids playing in the water. Beautiful cove with colorful buildings all around. Plenty of sailboats anchored farther out.
I walked to the fish market on the beach every morning. Just a hive of activity at 8 in the morning. Lots of restaurants close by including a nice restaurant in the hotel for breakfast and lunch where everything is made from scratch. Make sure you go to the Italian restaurant at the hotel next door. Really excellent food. The Bistro down the beach is nice as well, but pricier. 30 pesos to take the taxi into town if you don't want to walk.
It always blows me away how many taxis and buses there are in Mexico, and cheap.

Ideal for budget traveler. Best location in Zihua. Right on the far end of the beach within walking distance to the town via a well lit and safe path along the ocean. Try to get the upper floor ocean view rooms. Extremely quiet and clean. Did not eat there but heard from local ex-pats that it was very good. Very close to our favorite restaurant Casa Elvira.

This was a well situated hotel that I wouldn't hesitate in recommending. It is well located between downtown Zihua and Playa La Ropa. It's a 1 minute walk to La Madera beach. The rooms are clean and quiet. We had a beautiful ocean view upgrade!

What was left wanting at this place was the details. Ten years ago, I might have been excited to just have air conditioned room, but now...I'm looking for a little more. My husband complained of poor sleep due to a thin and hard mattress. If you fly all the way to Mexico, you gotta sleep well. We switched to a hotel down the road which was significantly more expensive but allowed him the rest he deserved for a few more days of a wonderful vacation.

We spent 2 weeks in the Jr. Suite, ocean view and were extremely pleased. We had 2 separate bedrooms with bathrooms, kitchen, living room and dining room. The staff were extremely helpful, correcting any problems that we had (extra bed in 2nd bedroom, cooking pot for kitchen). The room, pool & grounds were very clean. Rock free beach, good swimming area, 10 minute easy walk to town along rock walkway along ocean. This area is very quiet and a breath taking view of the bay and the fishing boats out every morning. Fresh fish market 10 minutes away. The beds were comfortable, air condition in both bedrooms. We would go back.
