“Must be on your bucket list.....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2013

If there is an experience you need to have before you die, stay a few days at La Casa Que Canta. Not even 20 minutes from the airport, served by many international airlines, there are very few places which do compare to this one. Although it is not intended for the super-active person, the hotel has a nice gym, you can run on the beach (just the walk down and up will be a good exercise), swim in their 2 pools, and they have outside activities like snorkeling, scuba diving and yoga. It is of course not the fun night life of neighbour Ixtapa, but who needs a TV and a disco when you basically come here to relax. I love being able to go down to the beach, walk for an hour, plunge into the big waves and then get a massage near the water. And apart from what the menu says, you can basically ask whatever you like to the chef. And do not hesitate to have Huevos Motuleños for beakfast instead of your daily granola or oatmeal. Give a little vacation to your stomach, and let it indulge in something different. And they have the best French (Belgian) fries of Zihuatanejo. Add to it the most friendly staff you can imagine, and you have all the ingredients for a perfect time. If you come for a few days, you won't want to get anywhere else to eat. And I did not even talk about the tremendous view.....

Room Tip: If you already come to enjoy the best, take a suite with a plunge pool, private terrace, lots of spa...

“Wonderful with one tiny little detail.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2013

Excellent resort. But when we book they never told us that they didn't have a beach on site. You have to get out to a public beach with no lounge chairs or shade. Just our towel under the sun. The hotel is truly beautiful, the service excellent, the food amazing, the suites are very very nice.
We went in September. They gave us some citronella spray for the mosquitoes which didn't work, I had to go to a drugstore because the mosquitoes eat me alive. Keep that in mind.

Room Tip: The pricier the suite, the better.

“This is the place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013

Don't think about it anymore. I read all the reviews. It's so difficult when you read a negative one. I was treating my husband to a surprise birthday getaway in December and was emotionally invested in this being the right place. He has taken me so many places in the World, often Four Seasons or luxurious Boutique hotels. I wanted this to be the perfect surprise. Well, my girlfriend recommended this hotel, so I decided to trust her opinion. Am I glad I did! This was the most lovely experience that could not be topped...ever!
We arrived on this stunning property and were seated and served drinks while being checked in to the property. We were escorted to a fabulous suite with a large balcony and it's own private infinity plunge pool. The view from the expansive balcony and bedroom was magnificent. Our bed had the beautiful flowers petals in a heart shape designed on it.
The bathroom was very nice and the closet had plenty of space.
We enjoyed delicious food at the restaurant. Fresh catches were displayed each day for selection. We walked the property and the beach and enjoyed the view an tranquility. The afternoon was filled with leisurely lunches and naps and downtime. The best breakfast was delivered to our room every morning to enjoy on our balcony. We had a couples massage in their couples suite that was fabulous as well.
For his birthday they had flower petals designing balloons and spelling happy birthday. I had arranged for a private dinner for my husband's birthday that was way beyond my vision. This was another surprise for him. We walked down to dinner in the evening but passed the restaurant. As we got closer to our very secluded spot, there were candles lit along the stairs leading down to a small private area overlooking the ocean. Candles surrounded the whole walk area and perimeter and a gorgeous table set for two. We had a private server who was very careful to take care of us and then discreetly leave each time. This was an evening my husband, nor I have ever forgotten.
This place is romance to it's fullest realization. It is a quiet town, so you need to go with someone you are truly connected with and whose company you absolutely adore. This is a special time for the two of you.
If you are considering a trip to this destination or any for that romantic respite with someone you love, this is it!

“"Mexico's hidden gem...we'll be back again and again"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2013

My wife and I just celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary at Casa Que Canta and it was the best overall experience of our lives. The setting overlooking the bay of Zihuatanejo and at the edge of La Ropa Beach, the totally private Master Suite with its own plunch pool, the waives crshing on the rocks below our room, the weather, the staff, the food, the massages, the nearby golf, the Margaritas, the romantic dinners etc. etc.
Do I need to say more? Simply the most fantastic and memorable experience of all time.
This was our 7th trip to Zihuat and the first time we've stayed at Casa Que Canta, but NOT our last.....first of many more to come!
Make sure you book the "meal plan" (daily breakfast and dinner included). CQC has the best restaurant in Zihuat, so why not make it easy and eat here at the hotel. Restaurant is located on top of a cliff offering views of the bay and city lights. Also, to get the privacy, book a room with its own plunch pool and don't forget the food plan. Enjoy yourselves like we did!!!!

“Best of the best in Mexico”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2013

First time stay at this amazing property. I have been all over the world at some of the finest resorts and this one is right up there with the best of them. Service is top notch as is the food and amenties. If you can, get a room with the plunge pool. It is awesome!
