“This is the place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013

Don't think about it anymore. I read all the reviews. It's so difficult when you read a negative one. I was treating my husband to a surprise birthday getaway in December and was emotionally invested in this being the right place. He has taken me so many places in the World, often Four Seasons or luxurious Boutique hotels. I wanted this to be the perfect surprise. Well, my girlfriend recommended this hotel, so I decided to trust her opinion. Am I glad I did! This was the most lovely experience that could not be topped...ever!
We arrived on this stunning property and were seated and served drinks while being checked in to the property. We were escorted to a fabulous suite with a large balcony and it's own private infinity plunge pool. The view from the expansive balcony and bedroom was magnificent. Our bed had the beautiful flowers petals in a heart shape designed on it.
The bathroom was very nice and the closet had plenty of space.
We enjoyed delicious food at the restaurant. Fresh catches were displayed each day for selection. We walked the property and the beach and enjoyed the view an tranquility. The afternoon was filled with leisurely lunches and naps and downtime. The best breakfast was delivered to our room every morning to enjoy on our balcony. We had a couples massage in their couples suite that was fabulous as well.
For his birthday they had flower petals designing balloons and spelling happy birthday. I had arranged for a private dinner for my husband's birthday that was way beyond my vision. This was another surprise for him. We walked down to dinner in the evening but passed the restaurant. As we got closer to our very secluded spot, there were candles lit along the stairs leading down to a small private area overlooking the ocean. Candles surrounded the whole walk area and perimeter and a gorgeous table set for two. We had a private server who was very careful to take care of us and then discreetly leave each time. This was an evening my husband, nor I have ever forgotten.
This place is romance to it's fullest realization. It is a quiet town, so you need to go with someone you are truly connected with and whose company you absolutely adore. This is a special time for the two of you.
If you are considering a trip to this destination or any for that romantic respite with someone you love, this is it!

My wife and I just celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary at Casa Que Canta and it was the best overall experience of our lives. The setting overlooking the bay of Zihuatanejo and at the edge of La Ropa Beach, the totally private Master Suite with its own plunch pool, the waives crshing on the rocks below our room, the weather, the staff, the food, the massages, the nearby golf, the Margaritas, the romantic dinners etc. etc.
Do I need to say more? Simply the most fantastic and memorable experience of all time.
This was our 7th trip to Zihuat and the first time we've stayed at Casa Que Canta, but NOT our last.....first of many more to come!
Make sure you book the "meal plan" (daily breakfast and dinner included). CQC has the best restaurant in Zihuat, so why not make it easy and eat here at the hotel. Restaurant is located on top of a cliff offering views of the bay and city lights. Also, to get the privacy, book a room with its own plunch pool and don't forget the food plan. Enjoy yourselves like we did!!!!

First time stay at this amazing property. I have been all over the world at some of the finest resorts and this one is right up there with the best of them. Service is top notch as is the food and amenties. If you can, get a room with the plunge pool. It is awesome!

This is the second time my husband and I stayed at La Casa que Canta and I am not disappointed. Since our first visit, about four years ago, they have renovated the reception area and looks really amazing. The rooms are nicely decorated, comfortable and extremely clean. The view from any floor or location is absolutely beautiful. The gym is very well equipped and supplied with clean towels and cold water. The staff is very efficient and friendly. At night, you might get loud noise from the bars and clubs located in the area. If you are noise sensitive, you will have this problem from any hotel located on the beaches La Ropa or La Madera. Our stay was relaxing and very pleasant, I would go back again when the opportunity arises.

Our stay in January was wonderful and amazing. Everything about the hotel is what the other reviews state. Only a few complaints while there - foam pillows would be appreciated as feather pillows don't work well for us. We had suite one, very close to the crashing waves and earplugs were actually needed to drown out the very loud crashes.

Only complaint is we just looked at our credit card statement online and they double charged us. Nice place but not worth paying double. Just hope they are pleasant about the refund. A high end hotel should be a bit better with their accounting.

Spent 4 nights at Christmas time. Hotel is built into cliff side with beautiful view of the bay. Room has lovely terrace with lounge chairs, couch and table for relaxing and enjoying the views. Very interesting architecture. Hotel is well maintained and impeccable. Rooms are comfortable with old world Mexican decor. Each room is unique decorated with fine art objects. Staff is very accommodating making you feel at home. Excellent restaurant overlooking the bay. This was our 4th stay and will be back again.

I was here for a a wedding and it's the most peaceful and relaxing place where the natural beauty around you is matched by the accommodations. The staff is 100% on point with taking care of you in every way. A perfect spot for a romantic getaway where you can turn off from everything else in the world. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: Get one with one of the pools!
