“Mexico destination Mexico”

Attended a destination wedding at this resort. It was outstanding. The service, food, grounds, pools. All staff had an excellent command of English

Room Tip: Would recommend a room with a private pool. We didn't and should have.

We just spent four days of bliss at this fabulous hotel. The staff was incredibly helpful, professional and one step ahead all the time. The hotel has a spectacular location, perched on the cliffs overlooking the bustling bay of zihau. Sitting on the patio having breakfast watching all the fishing boats was heavenly. We travel the world and have stayed at many beautiful spots, but this is one we will return to. A romantic, beautifully appointed, quiet, elegant and peaceful treasure not to be missed.

Room Tip: All rooms are spectacular, you can't go wrong.

We just returned from a four night stay at La Casa Que Canta. Not only did the hotel, the service and the setting wow us but we had the most incredible opportunity of being the only guests there for a bit our of stay....total luxury.
The property is set against the cliffs of the bay with an unobstructed view of the pacific. The hotel's pools are a perfect way to cool off after a day kayaking or hanging at Playa Ropa. Although we did do some sightseeing in Zihuatanejo, I do not necessarily recommend leaving the hotel vicinity. One worthwhile activity is to rent kayaks from a lovely beach sport center next to the Intrawest Hotel and kayak to Playa Las Gatas. There you can eat amongst the locals and have a beer before paddling back to Playa Ropa.
The service at the hotel is fantastic. You are never without a cold glass of lemon water and the restaurant is wonderful.
Enjoyo your trip. It is really outstanding.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a terrace. It is really special to have breakfast or a late afternoon beer with...

I'm not usually one to write reviews, especially on a place I like to kind of keep to myself, but I feel so compelled and obligated out of the sheer unbelievable experience my wife and I just had, I must. We are just back from a 13day stay were we got married and honeymooned at LCQC in Zihuatanejo. I really can't put into words how perfect a place this is and the staff are... it's really a very top notch, well run property. My wife and I went to visit the property for a quick weekend trip back in Feb. and decided that weekend that this was the spot to be married. Luisa, Letica and the entire LCQC staff were unbelievably helpful in every single detail during the wedding planning and the 3 day event itself. It all went off without a hitch and better than even our wildest imagination could have gone. I was first turned onto the idea of Zihua by a friend and former colleague who was also married there a few years back. He's been traveling to the area for over 10years straight and has had nothing but high praises for the area. When I mentioned to him we were contemplating Zihua and specifically LCQC he told me that I absolutely could not go wrong or do much better than this spot. And without a doubt, it was. This is probably one of the best hotels, staff's and spots in the world and that's not just coming from myself (with wedding blinders on), but some very experienced and well traveled guests that attended our wedding. I knew everyone was going to love the spot, but I was very curious how a few of my 'hotel snob' friends would like it---They all said they will be going back. In fact they were leading the charge for us to have a 5yr anniversary party there. As for the area, we never felt unsafe and went into town several times. I was informed by a staff member that the police have stepped up their presence in the area just because they don't want people to feel unsafe while visiting. Maybe my view is a little simplistic, but I view the cartel wars no differently than the Mob wars much of the 20th century or gang wars now in any major city in America. It's territorial in-fighting and like any place in the world, if you travel with respect, smile and are courteous, than you shouldn't really have many problems. To that point, both of our parents and their friends are a little older and were a bit concerned to say the least due to the massive amounts of news coverage on Mexico these days. Needless to say, they loved every minute of it and freely ventured into town, La Ropa beach and just about everything in between. To say we were depressed when we left to come home was a serious understatement. It truly is an unforgettable experience and I would highly recommend to anyone who wants to have a nice, romantic getaway with their spouse or some close friends. The staff is unbelievable in every little thing they do and attention to detail is perfect. They pride themselves on their work and truly believe/work as a family unit and want you to feel apart of their family. Without a doubt, Mateo and Amy will be heading back for many years to come and visit our family at LCQC. Muchas Gracias Luisa, Leticia and staff. You helped make memories that will last us a lifetime!!

Room Tip: If you're going, get a room with a splash pool. It makes your experience that much more spectacu...

I have been to this romantically enchanting property several times over the past several years. The service is consistently excellent. The property is very quiet and beautifully landscaped. It sits on a hillside overlooking the Bay, with every room having beautiful views. All of the rooms are spacious and exquisitely decorated Mexican style. I recommend visitors book one of the suites with a plunge pool...heaven on Earth. The room service breakfast is excellent. And don't forget to try the mango margarita's and the cucumber soup. The hotel is conveniently located just outside of the old town. Guests can walk to many restaurants and the town easily. Playa La Ropa (Zihuat's main beach) is a short walk down the hill. If you want to go fishing, I strongly recommend you just walk down to the town pier and hook up with one of the ponga boat Captains the day before your desired trip. For about $100, you will have a great time fishing in the Bay and just outside of it. We have caught a great number and variety of fish every time we've done this, regardless of the season. This is a much less expensive and time consuming way to enjoy a little time on the water and fishing than booking a boat to go off shore (just not necessary, unless that is what you are looking for). One more thing, the property is very secure, and I have never felt unsafe in Zihuatanejo. If you are looking for a romantic get away, La Casa Que Canta is your destination!

Room Tip: Book one of the master suites with a plunge pool.

We just left La Casa Que Canta, and it was hard to leave. This is a perfect place to go if you are a couple looking for some quality relaxation and renewal time, and if you want an intimate experience that is full of care. We cannot say enough about how caring the staff was. They looked out for us every day, but were never overbearing. One of the things we loved was how flexible they were. We could have breakfast whenever we wanted (noon was no problem :). They remembered what we liked from the day before, and made sure to bring it the next day (mango instead of apple; green juice with orange juice vs. grapefruit), etc.

Our room (Marieta suite) was beautiful (even the bathroom had a pretty view). It was very private and had a great outdoor living room. Like others have noted, we were greeting with beautiful flower petal "paintings" on our bed each night, and it was impeccably clean. And every night (and all day) you are soothed by the sounds of the ocean crashing on the rocks below.

And the food was wonderful. We looked forward to our breakfast on the balcony every morning, and to lovely fish and seafood every night. Great flavors - never boring. High quality. Not cheap but a completely fair price for the quality level, in our opinion. And we are picky eaters from San Francisco :)

It is not right on the beach, but the views and pool areas are very pretty.

I try to be balanced in my views and think about who would NOT like this place. I guess if you want a lot of action and activity, this wouldn't be for you. But if you want to be with your loved one in a nurturing, tasteful, luxurious (but not fancy) place with great food, great people and lots of privacy, do consider La Casa. We will definitely be going back, and we don't say that about all that many places.....(Thank you to the staff - you were wonderful to us!)

Room Tip: we upgraded to the master suite, and really enjoyed it. each of the rooms is different. we loved M...

Our first time to Zihuatanejo and we fell in love with it. We did not once feel unsafe and we had also went into town - both Zihuatanejo, which is a walk from our hotel and quick and cheap taxi ride to Ixtapa. We could learn something from how happy everyone is there!! La Casa Que Canta is a paradise alone by itself. We had a room with a plunge pool and all the rooms are breathtaking. We barely left our room and if you don't have a room with a pool - that's ok too - there is so much privacy there - wonderful little coves all over - no fighting for chairs by the pool! This is extreme relaxation - we had a dual massage that was wonderful and massages are also available down the beach from hotel. There is a quick entrance to beach from our hotel with a few other hotels - great beach to walk on. La Casa Que Canta does not have beach chairs out there because they are built on the hillside but no need anyways. All the relaxation areas are all right on the ocean with the waves hitting the rocks - simply amazing! The staff doesn't hover over you - they really try to give you your space but they are always observant of where you are at in the hotel and to meet your every needs. The food there was incredible - beautiful but filling proportions - lots of seafood! There was free water, beer, pop and fruit in our room daily! So many wonderful little perks. We even had a 'Pet' Iguana that visited us daily and we spoiled him!! We even had a personal taxi driver who became our friend - we shopped with him and he showed us the town and history - Antonio made it fun for us. Can't say enough about this awesome trip. I am not sure if we will ever want to venture out from our 'Paradise' ever again. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!!

Room Tip: We checked out a few of the rooms with the pools - they were all awesome!!!!
