“We love Casa Celeste”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2011

We have stayed here for many years, before they had the swimming pool and have always loved it. The rooms are wonderful, as well as the staff. The sad story though is all the bars that have gone in around it make for a miserable night. One bar played very loud music till 4:30 in the morning, and no, it was not Zorro's, one across from it on the side, and yet, they were fixing to open another bar next to that one. My sister and her husband, their first trip to Zihua, needless to say they hated it, and we had to move the next day to another hotel that Francisco and family assisted in. They were kind to put us at another of their properties Hotel Casa Don Francisco on Playa LaRopa, much quieter, and WOW, the hotel and staff were just fabulous. We stayed in the very top room, the views were unbelievable. My sister and husband stayed in one of the rooms with their own private infinity pool, beautiful as well. Will I stay at Casa Celeste again, absolutely, but may be in a room without a balcony, which I love to people watch in the mornings.

The owner and staff go out of their way to accommodate. The owner speaks very good english which is helpful. We had a balcony room which is very entertaining because you are looking over a walk path across from a restaurant. This location allows you to walk just about anywhere in the city within minutes or grab a taxi quickly if you are interested in going further out. The rooms are spotless and have lots of extras like hairdryer, robes, coffee maker and fridge. The pool is beautiful and refreshing! This is our second time staying at Casa Celeste and plan on making a third visit here. Keep in mind the balcony rooms do have a little more noise from the street, but it's the ultimate people watching experience of real Mexico! Would highly recommend this place to stay and suggest a balcony room.

I was here teaching a writing workshop for 9 days. We all stayed in this hotel and used the third floor for our classroom. The hotel is very clean, the desk people: Esmeralda, Kristen and Ivan all speak very good English, the rest of the staff is pleasant and very efficient. The wi-fi is strong, the little courtyard pool kept pristine clean and everything is polished. Nice a/c in the room. TV with cable (CNN International), magnificent tile work throughout. Lots of attention to detail here.

The hotel is located in Centro, however, and while convenient to everything (shops and restaurants) sometimes the parties in the town square can get kind of noisy at night. Be sure to ask for a room in the back of the hotel, much quieter. We all love this hotel, and if I'm ever back in Zihua, I will most assuredly stay here.

I've never been in a hotel that made me feel more attended to! By the end of my week-long stay, I felt like I was leaving my family. In addition to the outstanding location and hotel quality, the entire staff, (Esmeralda, Lorena, Crystal, Aurora, and Ivan), made us feel very special and helped to make our vacation in Zihuatanejo incredibly delightful. For our anniversary, the staff surprised us with a beautiful sculpture on our bed (see photo). The on-site morning yoga classes were fantastic. The hotel is located on a pedestrian walkway. There are no cars, but there is nighttime activity. My one suggestion, if you want a quiet room, would be to ask for a room that is not facing the walkway.

We had a wonderful 10 day stay with Esmeralda. This cozy hotel is an "Oasis" in the center of Zihua!!!
Absolutely wonderful! Esmeralda is the best and most gracious hostess! Visit Casa Celeste when in Zihua!

We had been staying at a friend's hotel around the corner, we heard about this hotel on a Bulletin Board for Zua Wah. We EMailed the hotel and they got right back that they had a room for us. This was the 2nd year that we have been staying with them before we go to our timeshare in Ixtapa. We had to cut our trip short and return home the next day because my mother had passed away.
It was if they could not do enough for us- they would make any phone calls that we needed. We checked out that Friday morning and left our luggage there while we made changes with Mexicana for our tickets and then going to Pacifica to move our week to Feb. 2011 even though our check in was for Saturday. The hotel let us stay there till we left for the airport for our 4:30 flight home.
Both times we arrived at the hotel around noon with check in at 4pm- we never had to wait longer than 1 hr to get our room. There is no noise insulation for the rooms with balconies on the street (those are the only rooms that have balconies)- just close the patio door, pull the curtain and turn the AC on). What is surprising is there are no tv or phone in the room, It made it nice- we love sitting on our balcony having our box wine that we bring with us and watch the pedestrian traffic below us. If you want to go to a good beach, you must take a taxi. With the money you save, it's worth taking the taxi. Being in Centro, you are close to everything, about 2 blocks from the Boardwalk, the Catholic Church, the basketball court on Sunday night where everyone goes- if you are in Zua Wah, you must go to the basketball court on Sunday evening-,and some of the up scale restaurants.
For the price, you can not beat this little hidden Gem of a hotel. The 2nd time we came, we felt like we were family- that is the way with most of the little hotels in Zua Wha.

The Hotel Casa Celeste was the perfect spot located on a pedestrian street, excellent pool and rooms. We strol
l the streets every evening and morning and found many restaurants and bars hidden near the hotel:Fonda Tertulia,Fonda abanicos,Tortas Ziranda, Chez Leo`s,the old spaguetti's house,Tango's,America's,The Corner Bar among many others. This was the best dining experience in my life.
