“Plants, birds and lots of butterflies”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 22, 2013

This is quite an extraordinary environment. An amazing rain forest, lots of plants and trees, it all grows amazingly.
From an amazing vern collection, birds of paradise, monarch butterflies, and birds. Please use something to keep the mosquitos away.

The bus leaves from the Zona Romantica for only 20 pesos, entrance is 60 pesos and bug repellant is 25 and you'll need it.

While you're there. Have lunch because the food is great. Try the fish tacos or a great quesadilla.

“beautiful”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 19, 2013

The gardens were beautiful. I think I would have enjoyed them more if we would have had more time. Make sure you give yourself enough time and energy to go hiking.

“Just beautiful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 17, 2013 via mobile

Lovely gardens, well worth the cab ride, which is just over an hour from Nuevo Vallarta, so be prepared .the ride up is beautiful along the coastline to parts of puerto Vallarta that we would have missed. The gardens the selves are beautiful.
Lots of hiking trails, so bring bug spray. Make sure you visit the restaurant as well...nice views. Good service and wonderful food! Enjoy!

“Gardens are excellent! Worth a visit when in Puerto Vallarta”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 15, 2013

The botanical gardens are such a beautiful spot! The gardens are an easy bus ride from Puerto Vallarta (just 20 pesos). The location is just wonderful and the restaurant has delicious food (wood fired pizza). Although we didn't have any, our fellow garden visitor said the margaritas are excellent and strong! We were fortunate enough to be there when a garden tour was starting--the volunteers are engaging and knowledgeable and made the gardens so much more interesting. Lots of butterflies, too. We brought bug spray but they also have it available for sale at the entrance, but we didn't encounter many bugs. I highly recommend a visit!

“Smaller than I thought”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 14, 2013

nice trails through some rainforest. It is were they filmed the movie Predator. We waked pretty much every trail, within one hour. I thought it would be bigger. But take this with a grain of salt as we are good hikers.
