“Great place to stay in PV”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2012

I was briefly passing through Puerto Vallarta last month and picked Hacienda Alemana based on TripAdvisor reviews - and could not have been happier with the decision. I felt very safe there, not as though there have been any problems in the area.

Everyone at the Hacienda was welcoming and friendly, the rooms were clean, comfortable and well designed - and the atmosphere was truly beautiful. It was a great way to wrap up my Mexican adventure, and would absolutely stay there again.

We stayed here in our trip to Mexico and we really enjoyed staying here. The owner and his wife are extremely friendly and helpful with directions and tips on where to go.
The concept of having a breakfast together around one big table wih other guest was a really good (but unusual) idea. Saying that it turned our very helpful as you can gather lots of info on restaurants and clubs.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at Mike and Irma's hotel. They were so helpful with tips not only in PV but also for the rest of our journey across Mexico. (the staff were also very nice) Our room was just as in the images on the internet, a really lovely, spacious one with a great new shower room. I really enjoyed the pool area, especially when my husband was away on a fishing trip! The breakfasts were tasty with nice strong coffee, delicious fresh fruit juice and I can recommend the goulash on the lunch/dinner menu, as well as the tuna carpaccio.

What a Gem! After 7 trips to PV we found our perfect spot, Hacienda Alemana. We spent 10 nights in this Oasis. Mike and Irma are the best hosts, like visiting family. Their daughter Tatjiana taught us more about Mexico in 30 minutes than we learned in our past 6 trips, a real pleasure talking with her. The central location of the Hacienda Alemana in the Romantic Zone makes it easy to explore PV and the surrounding area either by foot or local bus. The room was beautiful and kept spotless by Estellla. The breakfasts were delicious and made to order from an extensive menu. The Hacienda restaurant/Biergarten has great food and you won't leave hungry. They even have German Bier, it doesn't get better than that! The pool in the center court yard is icing on the cake. Who says you can't have it all? We're already planning our next trip there.

For our first trip to PV we chose Hacienda Alemana based on the Trip Advisor good reviews. We were not disappointed. Located in Zona Romantica the Hacienda is an oasis in the midst of the hustle and bustle of PV. First, the owners, Mike and Irma, are hospitable, welcoming and helpful and exceeded our expectations. The staff is just as welcoming and customer focused. We chose a jr.suite room for our 5 night stay. The room was very spacious, ample sized bath area and shower. Well appointed decor and suited for the warm temperatures encountered in October. All 10 rooms have a view to the pool which is in the center of the central courtyard. The on site restaurant, which features German dishes, has indoor and outside dining. We ate there on 2 evenings and had all breakfasts there as well. Servings are ample, good tasting and efficient friendly service. The hotel is located 5 blocks from the beach so for families with children this is an excellent location and place to stay at reasonable prices. We would definitely stay here again.

You probably don't realize you have extended family running a beautifully quiet, comfortable and fantastically-located mid-sized B&B in Puerto Vallarta. But after two or three days at Hacienda Alemana, that's exactly how you'll feel about Irma & Mike. Rooms are clean, bright and pleasant. Irma's breakfasts are varied and bountiful -- feeling very European -- and Mike's German-themed 3-4 star restaurant right downstairs was easily the best restaurant we ate at during our week-long stay.
The street and neighborhood in which Hacienda Alemana is situated may at first feel a bit busy, loud or funky to the uninitiated. But this makes it more affordable than the tourist trap resort hotels, more authentic than being on "the strip," and makes for easy access to shopping, the beach, other restaurants and destinations south of town, like the not-to-be-missed botanical gardens. And when you step through the heavy wood-and-iron gate that is the front door of their hotel / restaurant, you enter an oasis of beautiful plantings, quiet and seclusion with just the right amount of engagement from your hosts.
Mike, a restaurateur for decades, and Irma, a gracious and sincere mom to all, designed the property from the ground up to be exactly what it is, oversee everything and run a tight ship. Astonishingly generous with their time, advice and property; you won't go wrong.
And don't miss having a specialty coffee drink at the restaurant after dinner...much more than just a beverage.

Room Tip: Our upstairs room, with a small patio overlooking the pool, offered a great balance of breeze, priva...

This place was wonderful! My husband took me here for our honeymoon and I could not of asked for anything better! It was the low season so we thought it would be rainy, but the weather was beautiful and so was Hacienda Alemana. Mike and Irma were very personal and welcoming! Irma prepared amazing home cooked meals for breakfast every morning including fresh fruit, granola, yogurt and coffee and then usually some sort of mexican dish, with eggs, fresh cheese and bread! The rooms were very modern, clean and private. This was the perfect place to relax and also experience Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. There are many local restaurants, shops and nearby places to explore.

Thank you Mike and Irma for hosting us and making us feel like a part of your family!
