“A great Week!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2013

We just returned home from the Dreams on Saturday !

My husband and I plus two other couples were in the older tower on the 4th floor and had a great view as all face the ocean but some lower rooms would not have a good view.. The rooms are pretty basic in this tower but they are clean and the bed and pillows were very comfortable - not hard like a lot of the places we have stayed. We never spend a lot of time in the room so we did not feel the need to upgrade to the preferred tower.

We arrived after 4 in the morning as our plane was delayed so check in was quick with just the 6 of us. There is 24 hour room service and we took advantage of it and ordered some beer, wings and tacos, as we were hungry.
The food was good no matter where we ate, although we liked the Oceana and the Seaside Grill the best. There is a great a good selection at the buffet and you would have to be real picky if you can not find anything you like. Also there is no reservations at the al la cartes which was wonderful. We did not have any waiting at any of them although we were told there sometimes is.

The beach is private so you can't walk for a long ways which I like to do. There were always lots of palapa and loungers. There is no towel cards and you are not allowed to save loungers - towels are taken off them if no one is around them after an hour. There are vendors on the beach but they do not bother you. We spent time at the swim up bar and pool -- they made the best dirty monkeys!

The entertainment in the lounge was not great while we were there, and not enough seating. They closed at 1:00 and the Sports bar (which only had chairs - not tables) closed at 2:00. We would have liked a place where we could sit and play cards. They did have a fire show which was very good and a Mexican show which we only saw part of as we had to pack to leave that night.

We did have to get a taxi to go off the resort. With the 6 of us, it was $10.00 american each way to go to the malecon and $24.00 to go to the marina. It would have been less for 4 people.

We found everyone very friendly and enjoyed our stay.

We stayed here in January 2013. We had an amazing experience. The resort is beautiful and the service is excellent. The food was really good, and it was really easy to access the a la carte restaurants (i.e. you would never have to eat at the buffet unless you wanted to). Because of the towers, most rooms have amazing views of the water. The beach is beautiful and relatively private since (although some vendors come from boats to sell things). We had no problems getting lounge chairs by the pool or beach, even when we were looking late in the day. The spa was beautiful. We would happily come back to this resort in the future.

Room Tip: Higher floors have better views of the ocean. The preferred tower does have nicer rooms, but the ol...

Many visits to PV but this was the best. Food was amazing and limited access to the beach made it much nicer not to have to say "no" to the vendors all day long. Every visit to PV has been the best in weather. Only negative is to be careful in the sea, as it can be dangerous if you are not careful...

Room Tip: Pay for the deluxe upgrade, you will enjoy the balcony hot-tub and better view. (Also rooms are muc...

This was our first trip to Dreams in Puerto Vallarta and after this trip we said to ourselves, "why go anywhere else?" From the moment we arrived on the property to the time we left, our experience was awesome! We were met at the front entrance with a glass of champagne for each of us. Our room was in the old tower, which probably needs a bit of updating, but it was very clean and quiet! Each room has a great view of the ocean. The bed was a king size bed and very comfortable. Room equipped with flat screen TV, A/C, hair dryer, a stocked fridge (which they re-stock every day), personal amenities, and a safe for personal items. They come to clean twice a day and you can request to have the bed turned down if you wish. The food was delicious, having 5 excellent restaurants, and a small food stand on the beach. They also offer room service, which was quick and had a good variety of food to choose from. We ate breakfast at the Oceana almost every day. We made it a point to eat at each restaurant while we were there and they all rank excellent in our opinion! The waiters were very attentive and thoughtful. It was terrific! There are numerous bars, including a swim-up bar, a fitness center (well equipped and clean), a spa, and 3 swimming pools with hot tubs. They have a tennis court and a paintball area for added fun! They have a banquet hall where they put on a Caribbean NIght and the waiters all dressed as pirates! Live entertainment followed with dancers dressed in very colorful costumes! They also have the Coco Cafe where I could get my morning mocha, however it is open until 7 at night! They also offered sandwiches and desserts. The Coco Cafe also has a couple of computers for use. The staff throughout the whole resort is amazing! From the front desk to the groundskeepers to the housekeeping staff, to the chefs, waiters and hostesses to the bartenders and Dream Entertainment Team~~~ all were very professional and took pride in their service to the guests. They are very courteous and friendly, always willing to do whatever you ask of them. And when you say thank you, they say "it is my pleasure". They are great, and we looked forward to seeing them each day! We also were able to see the whales breaching in the bay, and took part in the turtle release! Dreams has something for everyone, whether it's more on the quiet side, or finding lots of activities to participate in. Awesome!

We just returned from a week at Dreams PV and it certainly lived up to our expectations. We stay in the Preferred Club rooms which are very comfortable and spacious. The availability of breakfast and afternoon snacks in the lounge was much appreciated too. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

Being on its own small bay with a private beach is a big advantage. It's quiet and has plenty of loungers for everyone. Part of the beach doesn't get the sun until later in the morning but that's the only downside.

The restaurants were superb and we had great dishes in each one. The lamb osso bucco at Portofino was as good a lamb shank as I've eaten. The seafood at Oceana and Seaside Grill was simply but effectively prepared and allowed us to really appreciate the flavour of the fish. The Mexican food at El Patio gave us a new appreciation for just how good it can be.

We booked through WestJet Vacations and their service at the airport and hotel also helped make the vacation really enjoyable.

Room Tip: We had a ground floor room in the Preferred Club and it had the advantage of a large patio instead o...

My Husband and I really enjoyed our stay at this Resort! It is an older resort (two large buildings). One side is totally renovated (more expensive to stay) and the other side is not (cheaper to stay). I would suggest paying the extra money right from the start (when you initially make the reservation). If you wait to upgrade when you arrive, you may not get the nicer room for your whole stay. However, if you are on a budget, staying on the cheaper side still allows you full use of all three pools and all of the restaurants. The food was very good. You could get food at pretty much any hour. They even have a little taco stand on the beach as well as a bar. The beach for this Hotel is private and very nice. You can sit under a nice palapa on the beach or relax by any one of the three swimming pools. There is an adults only pool which is small and quiet. We didn't want to spend our vacation surrounded by kids but we tended to gravitate to the center pool where the kids were. It was a much more fun and lively place. It had a Swim up bar and lots of entertainment. There are vendors on the beach (but only a few) and they do not hastle you. Some nights the vendors had booths set up for you to make purchases. One really excellent event was the turtle release. Every year turtles swim onto the beach at Dreams Resort and lay their eggs. This hotel actually has a hatchery. They collect the eggs and keep them safe until they hatch. Once the baby turtles hatch they must realease them into the ocean within 24 hours. The best part about this, is all guests are included in the release of the turtles. We set baby turtles free practically every day that we were there (7 days). It was an amazing experience! All of the staff were very friendly, helpful and attentive. The older part of the hotel is in need of ALOT of love. We spent two days on the older side and the room was pretty yucky in my opinion. Once we moved to the other side there was a HUGE difference. It was very luxurious! Sleep quality in both rooms was good. Cleanliness of the facility was great. Location was perfect. The renovated room was "WOW". Beverage selection: You could get a drink at anytime! We never got sick and we drank all of the water that they offered us. I believe they have a great filtration system at the hotel. Another thing I liked was that they had booths at the hotel where you could plan excursions. The agents were very helpful at the booths. We ended up with Outdoor Adventures Zip Line Experience (Which was AMAZING!) and we swam with dolphins and sea lions (also amazing). And a Booze cruise boat ride out to an islandy area where we had dinner by candle light and a nice show (similar to a luau in Hawaii). There were several weddings at the Hotel while we were there and it looked as though they were well organized. We were there when the world series was on. My husband was really happy because every night they set up a huge big screen on the beach and he watched the world series nightly while laying on a lounge chair under the stars and being served cocktails by the staff. In the background there was a gentle breeze and you could hear the waves crashing onto the beach. Pretty Fricking Cool! You won't go wrong staying at this Hotel. Many of the people we met while we were there had been there before many times. One couple stayed there every year on their anniversary for the past 20 something years. That said alot to me :)

Room Tip: Book a room on the nicer side from the very beginning (don't wait to get the upgrade while you a...

We got married at Dreams in 2009. If you look up wedding, or pool jump wedding Dreams Puerto Vallarta on YouTube, you will find our videos. Amazing service, amazing wedding and they even let the wedding party jump in the pool. Food. Was always top notch. We went back mar 2010 for our anniversary and it was still just as great! The beach is awesome, only a few sellers with different things everyday. Not like downtown, where the beach is crazy busy!

Room Tip: The best rooms are in the new tower. But any room is not bad.
