“Very surprising”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2012 via mobile

My wife and I frequented this restaurant last year on our annual visit to PV. However, last year this restaurant was under a different owner, we were a bit concerned that perhaps the new owner's food and service wasn't up to the task. We were very happy and surprised when Sapori Di Sicilia met and exceeded our expectations.

The new owner's menu offered excellent choices of seafood and pasta. My choice was the sea bass which was presented perfectly and tasted delicious. The sea bass was placed in a small mound of mashed potatoes and accented with a light sauce that sparked the natural taste of the fish. My wife's pasta was garnished with shrimp and prepared in a very tasty cream sauce. We let the owner pick our white wine and was very happy with his selection.

After dinner the owner offered complimentary cordials of creamy orange and chocolate, both were excellent. All in all, we had a great time and plan to return before we leave PV.

“Servizio di Stile e di Stelle”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 19, 2012

Sapori Di Sicilia is a different and elegant restaurant where warm, welcoming owner Luca Cisca applies vision and finesse, offering great food and excellent service in a classy atmosphere.

Located in Romy Plaza (Centro district) with candlelit tables and classic muted colors, Sapori Di Sicilia is impressive right down to the flatware. The service is impeccable, with near-perfect timing between courses and professional, charming waiters. But the food is the real star at Sapori Di Sicilia: beautifully-prepared, suitable portions presented with style. A delicious meal starts with a beautiful fresh salad, lightly dressed and creatively tossed to combine flavors (swordfish, capers, olives and arugula, one of several offered). For an entree, enjoy handmade pasta cooked al dente to perfection, tossed with a fresh light tomato sauce, garlic and seafood, topped with clams. (Be sure to ask about the daily specials, usually impeccable and unique.) Finish your lovely dinner with a handcrafted cannoli stuffed with sweet ricotta cheese, and a chilled Limoncello. ¡Delizioso!

“Great Italian Restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 14, 2012

The best Italian food I have had in Puerto Vallarta. My husband had sea bass that was placed on a small bed of mashed potatoes then covered with small clams and a mix of tomatoes and parsley. It was to die for. I had the homemade ravioli with a very light sauce with mushrooms.Different then the tomato sauce.....very very good . This was served with their own homemade bread. We finished with some complimentary almond cookies and a shot of lemon cello. Great service...all the waiters were there when you needed them.We will be back!!!!

“Great Traditional Sicilian Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 5, 2012

We went to this location to find an Italian restaurant we dined at last year. It was no longer there, however, Lucca the owner of Sapori welcomed us, showed us the menu and gave us a few samples. We made reservations for that evening.

The food was incredible. I have been to Taoromina, Lucca's hometown, and the food brought back great memories. Try the Lasagna, it's the best I ever ate out (outside of Italy). I had homemade pasta with mixed seafood, Outstanding! The almond cookies melt in your mouth.

A short walk off the beaten path, a great destination when in Puerto Vallarta.
