Great Hotel, concept and food experience. The hotel was sold to us as a 24hrs all inclusive Resort but it's not if you don't come during high season, which is not fair for people like us who don't like to travel during peak times- the Hotel dies at 11pm. But besides that, the hotel gets an A+ we loved the minimalist concept of it, the room and all areas. We will come back!!

We just returned from a fun and relaxing week at the Puerto Vallarta Hilton. From start to finish we felt like we were the most important guests. Top notch service in all the restaurants as well as by the pool. Special thanks to the breakfast team and Ricardo's guys at Fogo. The room was excellent, as Hilton Gold members we were upgraded to a suite. We even had time to use the top notch gym. On top of the service the location is perfect, minutes from the airport and downtown. Thanks for the great vacation!

5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2013

My (now) fiance and I stayed here in June, and we had an absolute blast. The service upon arrival is excellent, and they make every guest feel like a VIP. I thought our room was beautiful, bright, and modern. It was large and very well air-conditioned, which was SO nice after the high humidity and hot sun! The bed was other-worldy, as most Hiltons are.

The food is mostly great. As an all-inclusive, goes we were very pleased. The breakfast buffet was great, with a lot of authentic Mexican dishes. The lunch and dinner buffet are not five-star, but the food is still good and, for a place that doesn't need reservations and you can come straight from the pool, it was good. There is one place that alternates between Italian and Brazilian cuisine, and it is in a beautiful ocean-side patio. The Mexican and French restaurants were FANtastic. Both of them had just fantastic dishes. Not every restaurant is open every night, especially during the week. Try to try out the reservation-only places early in your trip so you can know which ones you want to hit more than once.

The drinks are all great and, though the website says some spirits are not included, we did not run into that. Everything we wanted was included. The bartenders at the Lobby Bar are great, friendly, and fast.

O'West is the rooftop bar and pool, and it was heaven on Earth for us. Its adults only and the pool is perfect for lounging. The waitress up there (her name escapes me) is absolutely wonderful. They have a sushi chef make up fresh rolls every half hour and make up plates with four pieces on each plate. You can't order your own, but its fun to munch on just a bit at a time. I am a sushi lover, and I thought that the sushi was wonderful. We spent literally hours up there. So nice.

There is the O'West pool and the main pool. Both are lovely and they are the perfect temperature for lounging and swimming. Even at its busiest, the main pool was not over-run with children, and they were pretty well-behaved.

It gets quiet at night, which could have been the season (we went pretty late in tourist season). We preferred the quiet, but we were still able to go to a late dinner, grab a drink in the lobby, and mingle in there or go sit by the beach.

The location of the hotel is great, just two block from the marina where you might need to catch, say, a snorkling trip or something. A cab to downtown is also only about $5.

We got engaged at the hotel, and the staff was SO incredible! The concierge helped my fiance arrange a beautiful evening, and she was SO excited for us! Our server at dinner even knew, and the chef made us a special dessert. We even had champagne waiting for us in our room when we got back. The staff made a day that was already one of the best of my life even more amazing!

There is really nothing I would change about my experience here. It was wonderful and the perfect vacation.

Room Tip: Our ocean-view room was directly in front the of the sea, and well worth it. Try to get ocean view!

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Hilton 6/13-6/17. We had been in touch with Mariana Del Toro prior to our trip to request wedding information for our friends. When we arrived, Mariana was kind enough to provide us with a tour of the resort and the various rooms. After the tour, she had a surprise upgrade room for us, a nice Junior Suite with 2 balconies, and a private rooftop with a jacuzzi. The room was amazing. It took us about a day to get over the room. When we went to the beach for a bit and came, there was another nice little surprise of a plate with fruit dipped in chocolate in our room and a personalized welcome card.

The beach was a bit small, but nice. A little rocky in the water, and the water wasn't too clear, but we were there for the sun. The beach vendors do come up to you a lot but they back off pretty quickly with a "no thank you" and move on. We had fresh coconuts cut for us every day to drink and eat out of, for about $4. You could probably barter them down a bit more but we were on vacation. We rode horses on the beach for $55 for 45 minutes, and again I'm sure you could barter him down a bit but it was well worth it. Jet skis were going for $45 for 30 mins, got them down to $40 but they wouldn't budge less than that. Fresh towels were always available, beach chairs and umbrellas were always available, but the nice cabanas and beds were a bit hard to get.

On the first day we had a couples massage at the spa, which included a body scrub. They had a special for $88 per person for the spa and scrub. They provided an opportunity to soak in a hot tub, hot tea, and a steam room as well. The service was top notch, extremely relaxing, and a really good way to start off the vacation.

There's an activity board next to the pool that lists activities throughout the day and night. at 10:30 pm they take a group of people to the nightclubs downtown, and the first night was Mandala. I did a little research on the nightclubs and had heard about this place from friends, so we decided to go with the group. Lulu gathered the people at the lobby bar around 11:30pm. We paid $35 per person which included a cab ride downtown, and all you can drink wristbands. The club was pretty packed, good music, decent crowd, and overall very safe. Cab ride back was on our own, and it only costed $5. In general, trips to and from downtown costs $5.

The concierge, I think Diana, was extremely helpful in making recommendations and setting up reservations for us at Si Senor in downtown PV, the one off of Guadalupe. There's another one that's on the beach in the romantic zone, but we were kind of glad that she recommended the one that's a bit further back because the food was amazing there. You have to get the Garlic Sepia (Calamari), it was the best calamari we had ever had! They also have an activity / excursion tour desk in the lobby where you can book your activities. They had a buy 2 get the 3rd free deal going on, so we did Rhythms of the Night and Marietas Eco Discovery. Unfortunately we didn't have time to book our 3rd trip, as there aren't that many options on Sundays and we were leaving Monday around noon. We could have done the Dolphins Experience Monday morning but didn't want to rush back to the hotel and then to the airport. Rhythms of the night is another must. Great food, show was similar to Cirque du Soleil, funny and entertaining. Marietas Eco Discovery was fun too, good snorkeling, visited the hidden beach and another private beach on an island, and played with a few hermit crabs.

The buffet at the resort actually had the best food. Service at all the restaurants was always amazing. Every day Daniel would look for us and say hello. The staff go out of their way to remember your names and make sure that your stay is a personal experience, with attention to details.

Downtown PV at night was extremely safe. We walked the board walk, checked out a few shops, watched the local entertainment/shows on the boardwalk, and just enjoyed the beautiful weather.

I can't thank Mariana and the rest of the Hilton staff for the wonderful experience we had. This was literally the best vacation we had ever been on, and we will definitely be back. Make sure to tip the staff, and they will treat you like celebrities. Don't forget to leave a tip out for the turn down service as well, our toiletries were always very nicely organized, clothes folded neatly, shoes nicely tucked away, etc. The room was nice and quiet as well, overall at night the resort was pretty quiet. The bed was super comfy, only complaint was that the towels were a bit rough, but everything else was clean.

Coming back to reality was a bit hard, it was even a bit hard to finally take off the wrist bands as they reminded us of how we were pampered like elite guests. WE'LL BE BACK!! See you soon Mariana, thank you so much again.

One of the bests hotels I've ever stayed at. Great view from the ocean front room. Great food. They have 4 different restaurants. My two favorite restaurants were the Mexican and Brazilian. The staff is wonderful. Sergio, Nicolas,Francisco, Jair, Alan and Oscar were so attentive and friendly. They made my sisters and I feel like as if we were at home. I highly recommend to stay at this hotel. It's 10 mins. away from Malecón which is Puerto Vallarta's downtown. Great experience. I strongly recommend it. I give it ALL fives!!! Overall amazing hotel and great humble people!! I love it!!

When I saw that this was a brand new Hilton resort, in a great location, and for a reasonable price, I thought it was a must for me. I then looked at the amazing pictures online, and became certain it would be perfect for my style and taste.
SERVICE:
Upon checking in it was apparent that service was outstanding, and it was the whole time we were there, fast & friendly!
PROPERTY:
The building and property seemed it was built cheaply! Beautiful modern decor and feel, but cheap and flimsy! Riding the10 month old elevators felt like they were 10 years old. The walls are thin, and the rooms were noisy! They accommodated us immediately when I asked for a free upgrade to a waterfront, and upper floor room. Yes, what a beautiful view of the water as well as the mountains and greenery.
However, there was a constant buzzing and humming noise in the upper floor rooms. It was extreme outside the room, but loud enough to be annoying even inside the room.
The toilet area had one vent that allowed a bad odor from the adjacent rooms. Nigh-time and early mornings brought it the cigarette smoke smell into our room from the smokers next-door. It got very strong at times. Just noticed other guests complaining about the same thing here in their reviews. NOT HILTON QUALITY!
The pools and beach were just adequate for the guests. We were extremely pleased that this property had an adult pool & bar rooftop, with stunning views and ambiance
FOOD:
Good hot and cold breakfast & lunch, with great service.
Sushi & Sashimi at the rooftop pool was consistently very good, and I know my Sashimi very well!
Dinner however, needs lots of improvements. They claim they have several restaurants, but only one was available per night. We've tried out the French one. Again, great service, but mediocre food. The hot food was all lukewarm! Sadly enough!
To The Management:
I know you're trying hard to improve this knew location. I know it's going to be great, eventually.
However, there is something I do not tolerate, and no one else should. It's one staff member with a serious bad attitude. Your rooftop Sushi chef!!! The great ambiance at the pool with it's great music was interrupted by another sound of the Chef's personal radio!!! Yes, this man apparently prefers to listen to his personal loud music, while the main guest music is playing. His music was so loud at times, it overpowered the pool music and ruined the atmosphere. When I asked the waitress, she immediately went to the back and made him turn his music off. She claimed that he often does this. He then came out to ask me what room I was in??? This is when management needs to intervene and give him an attitude check!

Room Tip: Avoid main top floor rooms due to noise and odor.

My husband and I stayed at the Hilton for a week and it was awesome. Everyone was helpful and extremely nice. Patricio, Josephina, and Felipe showed us excellent customer service and went above and beyond for us. Patricio served us drinks and made us feel very welcomed. Josephina went out of her way to get my husband a slice of cake for his birthday which made him feel special. Felipe made us feel awesome with his kind words and awesome drinks!! Overall the hotel is nice and we really did enjoy our stay. The food was good, the location was just right, and the hotel was very clean. Mr. Carmona also went out of his way to greet us and make sure our stay was to par.

We will definitely return and expect the same service if not better.
