“Yummy!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2012

After being handed a flyer for Miel we decided to take a chance and we had dinner here our last night in January 2012 . What a pleasant surprise! Although it was newly opened, the service was impecable and the food exceeded our expectations. Drinks were reasonably priced and good as well. We are looking forward to eating here again on our next visit in Feb 2013.

“A new little gem in Puerto Vallarta”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2012

This is a new restaurant in Puerto Vallarta owned by an experienced Italian chef who has moved to PV to be near his son and daughter in law. It was a marvelous experience, from the great martini's to the interesting menu. The shrimp dinner that I ordered was prepared perfectly with a delicious sauce and my husband loved the Osso Bucco. The prices are reasonable and the service is efficient and personal. We will look forward to a return visit.

“Fun new place for dinner and drinks”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2012

We have been watching Miel since it started in December. As any new restaurant goes there will be growing pains. Thru March it has been doing a good job. The bartender makes some wonderful Martini's. The "Cilantro-Ginger" Martini is so refreshing on a hot day. Menu is simple with a couple daily specials, the Mahi-Mahi with salad is simple but tasty, some pasta dishes, steak, chicken and an Osso Bucco that is donea bit differently. The special one day of fresh ravioli in a light creme sauce with pig prawns was excellent. The salads are my favourite as they use salad greens, tomatoes, a few veggies in a light (NOT oily) dressing that is refreshing and tasty. Something the body needs after to many taco's. Overall "Willy" and his dad "Giuseppe" are trying something differnt and doing a great job of it. Note, some nights they feature items for half price. Can't go wrong. Location is good just a block south of Riso's grocery store and the fish market.

“Great Salad and Antipasto, but Entrees Disappointed. Props for No Smoking”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2012

Our family of three finally ate dinner at Miel and sadly we were let down. The meal began on a high note, as the Miel salad accented with dollops of homemade hummus was the best salad we've had so far in Puerto Vallarta. Also, the antipasto plate of grilled vegetables was tasty. It was the main courses that really disappointed. Two of us ordered the chicken breast for $130 pesos, which was overcooked and dry, although the yummy honey sauce helped. The third diner chose the mahi mahi for $140, which was barely warm and bland. The mains were too small and we left hungry. It was odd that the chicken was served only with rice and no veggies and the fish was served only with a small green salad. The restaurant was very busy that Friday evening due to an unanticipated 50%-off promotion and service was therefore a little slow, but the staff were pleasant and apologetic. I applaud that it appeared that the restaurant enforces the no-smoking law, so we did not have to ingest cigarette smoke with our food. We will be giving the restaurant a second chance, because we have coupons that we purchased on cupocity.com.

“One bad appetizer in an otherwise Good meal”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2012

Had the roasted vegie appetizer, something tasted off, and bitter. App was grilled celery, carrot and zucchini with a dressing and grated cheese. Waitress said she liked it and it
may not have been to my taste, that it was the balsamic. I don't think so, I have balsamic with olive oil and bread all the time, the dish was bitter. Whatever, the rib eye steak was very tender and tasty and pasta norma, my namesake, was penne with a tomatoe sauce and eggplant with lots of cheese which I enjoyed. Volcano cake and panecotta with fruit was good. They have an unusual collection of mojitos and margs, but were out of passionfruit, would have been yummy in a mojjito. Friday was 1/2 off food, unfortunately my tummy did not approve of the appetizer later that nite.
