We are originally from the San Francisco Bay Area and living in PV for several years, we really miss good Chinese food. We had heard good things from neighbors about O Wat Joi which opened a couple of months ago and decided to try it on one of their "buffet" nights (Sunday/Monday). Finally, we have found a place in PV that does Asian/Chinese food right ... even at a buffet. It is not just that we are starved for good Chinese food here, this place was actually really good. The seafood soup with large pieces of fish and clams was awesome ... more Thai than Chinese. The chow mien, fried rice, lemon chicken, fried prawns, broccoli beef, ginger beef, wontons ... really everything was great. In a town with terrible Asian restaurants (Rojo Dragon), and some OK Asian restaurants (Archies Wok, Peking), this is a standout. That being said, on non-buffet nights, the ala carte menu looked great (and the wait staff said the food was even better), but the prices are out of line. With basics like rice and chow mien listed at more than 150 pesos and other dishes approaching 250 pesos, they probably need to bring their prices down. I do hope the place survives, because it is the best around these parts, but it was pretty empty the night we were there.
It's a little difficult to find, and since the hotel (Landmark) where the restaurant is located is new, taxi drivers don't know where it is. So make sure you have the address with you before you go.
