“So Much Fun, We Took Two”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 7, 2014

Vallarta Food Tours was one (actually two) of the highlights of our 3 week vacation to Puerto Vallarta. The first Vallarta Food Tour we took was the downtown day tour. Alex was our guide both days and he was great. Lots of information on the history, food culture and people of Mexico and Puerto Vallarta. We were a little nervous last year about eating "off the street" but after the tour, our fears were put aside and we became more adventurous. The second tour was in the Pitillal area of Puerto Vallarta. We took a cab that day to the beginning of the tour and the cab driver said to us when we told him the destination, "oh, you're going to Mexico." Folks, this was the real deal. This is where the locals slept, ate and shopped. Not sure we saw any other tourists on the street. Really loved this tour. You could easily take a bus, but I was feeling a little lazy that day. The food was great, Alex again gave a great tour, and it was truly the highlight of our 21 days in Puerto Vallarta. When we go back, we'll do the nite time tour of the city. Can't recommend Vallarta Food Tours enough. Make your reservation now.

“Get it done!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2014

It was the most enjoyable afternoon I had in Vallarta. It was well worth every peso. The tour guide Ricardo (Lobo) was very informative and he regaled travellers with tales of lore for three full hours. And don't worry about not being fed enough. I can EAT and I was stuffed by the time the tour was over and everything we ate was amazing and new!

“Vallarta Food Tours is a MUST!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2014

We have been coming down to Vallarta for 7 years now and I learned more in 3 hours from Ricardo Lopez than I did in all that time I spent here previously. Ricardo was not only an expert on local food, he is an expert historian. We learned about different regions in Mexico, the history of Vallarta and the food was amazing! I would do the same tour again it was so good. Can't wait for the Pitial tour!

“Vallarta Taco Tour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2014

On Saturday night we took the Vallarta Food Street Taco Tour. Ricardo was our guide and he was extremely knowledgeable and took us to al the best places. He was funny and knew about not just the food, but the culture and the history of Puerto Vallarta. On Sunday night we went to Gaby's, one of the stops on the tour for dinner which was excellent. We only wish we had taken the tour our first night so we could have gone back to ore of the taco stands.

Do yourself a favor and take this tour. Just be prepared to be adventurous and try things outside your comfort zone.
