“Relaxing, affordable beachfront hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2013

The hotel is on the south end of the romantic zone right on the beach. We had room #4 and it was great. I was concerned that the pool was directly accessible from my balcony to anyone at the hotel, but to our surprise, despite being fully booked we were the only ones that used it, in essence we had a beautiful private pool overlooking the beach.

We had a small kitchen with a new refrigerator and small stove with gas burners complete with cookware, cutlery, and serving dishes. Only the bedroom had AC, which is normal for Mexico. The bathroom was large and well lit.

The hotel itself has no elevator, so if you pick a higher floor room, expect to use a lot of stairs since rooms have large 10-12 foot ceilings. Each room, except g.round floor have private balconies with a small table perfect for sunset dinners.

They appear to be starting construction next door, so expect some construction foot traffic, I never noticed any noise.

Room Tip: Go for a 2nd floor or higher room, the views are worth it! The penthouses are amazing!

Upon our arrival we were greeted and shown our room. Daniel the manager and his assistant Dave were outstanding as well as housekeeper Felic. The entire staff went out of there way to make sure we were comfortable as well. The hotel as well as the grounds were kept up and the maintenance was flawless. All the guests were friendly as well. The building is very secure and all the guests have keys to the front door as well as the pool. The location has it's own private beach and lounge chairs. We ate lunch out and cooked our own dinner in the evenings while watching the beautiful sunsets. We are planning a return in 2015 and renting a penthouse which comes with a chef. He buys the food and at the end of your stay you pay for the groceries and tip.

Our top two loves in PV are the beaches and the fun of Old Town Vallarta (Romantic Zone). So Vallarta Shores is perfection for us. Each room is clean, comfortable and very cozy, as they are decorated with a wonderful Mexican flare! The kitchen, dining, and bedroom looked out to the beautiful sand and surf which are at the doorstep. You can spend the day shopping, dining, swimming, guzzling tequila (ha) and easily stumble back to your room. Location is perfect! The only negative is that the expansive view will soon become restricted on the completion of the new building next door. It's being built ON the flip'n beach! My husband has a 2nd negative... there is no on site restaurant. However, we were told that the Vallarta Shores owner(s) are arranging access to the facilities that the new resort next door will have.

I recommend going to the Vallarta Shores website. You can look into each unit and there is a webcam too!

Room Tip: Book 2nd floor or above, unless you can't do stairs. Ground floor has small parking lot in fron...

The artisan nature of these rooms is timeless, and the rooms are large and lovely. Brick combined elegantly with beautiful wood and beautiful art. You could stay weeks as they have full kitchen facilities, at least ours did. The bed was nice, warm water water plentiful, and the view gorgeous with private beach just outside the front door. So why only 3 stars? Well I'd love to edit this in a few weeks if Trip Advisor allowed that but they don't. The problem was that the staff was so non-enthusiastic to see us. It has that feel of a place being "bought out" where the staff is not excited and sort of begrudgingly do their tasks. There were some staff eventually we met that were a bit cheerier. If I was the owner or manager, I'd work on staff morale as this is really one of the most beautiful classic hotels we've seen in Puerto Vallarta. Would be great for entertaining as has a large beautiful table and balcony. To be fair, we were there in the lowest of the low season and my sense was we were the only ones in the hotel, and I have seen hotels lose their enthusiasm when they have so few guests. We'll try this hotel again, as the rooms were really beautiful.

Room Tip: all rooms have nice balconies, upper floors seem better. There is a bit of construction occurring in...

As all other good reviews state Vallarta Shores is a Fantastic location, with great amenities which truly make you feel as though you have just enough ownership over this piece of paradise.
We literally watched Dolphins play in the sea from our gorgeous balcony each morning while we sipped our coffee
Staff are extremely friendly, especially Daniel and Favio; honestly, I have been to Vallarta multiple times and this is my very best accommodation experience.

Room Tip: Any room with a balcony is the way to go!

For the price the place was great, large two rooms with a full kitchen. I wish that the living room also had an air conditioner as the one in the bedroom was not quite strong enough to keep the entire place cool. Daniel and Favio both treated us great and was always helpful when we had a question or two.

Vallarta shores is a great condo/hotel. It is within steps of the beach. The units in which I have stayed have been fully equipped and really nice to stay in. The wonderful people who work there make you feel like you are staying in your own home. I only wish it was! I have stayed there with my sister on multiple occasions and recently took my 12 yo granddaughter there. It was a wonderful place for her to begin her love of Puerto Vallarta. Thanks to all of you who work there. We had, again, a most wonderful time there and can hardly wait to get back....
