“Sort of out of the way but an ok stay.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2014

It used to have better access but someone built condos on the main road. One has to access this place from the back side. It took my 20 minutes to find it. I loved the pool. That was the nicest thing about it. The rooms were sort of "we used to be nice" kind of rooms. But overall I would recommend this place.

You get what you pay for. The hotel has a very perfect location in front of the pier, one advantages is that you can take the bus to go the Puerto Vallarta´s Malecon outside the hotel and the returning is the same thing you only need to take the bus that it says "Marina Puerto Vallarta" It´s very easy to move within the Puerto Vallarta.

The restaurant food is average, the service in general is good not excellent. The hotel is clean.

Recommendable for diving and one or two nights no more.

The hotel is only a 5 minute drive from the airport and located on the beautiful marina. The hotel staff were great and friendly. The room was very spacious, clean and had a wonderful view of the boat docks (no extra charge). The bar served drinks for a decent price and even had a happy hour. My favorite part about my stay was that the area was very diverse and although it was a tourist area, it had a local/laid back feel to it. The bus station was a few minutes walk away and we were able to travel to malecon in about 10-15 mins for 8.5 pesos and Nuevo Vallarta in about 20 mins. We took the taxi late at night when the buses didn't run anymore from malecon area and it was only about 80 pesos. I highly recommend taking the bus, it is so much fun! Just hold on tight and keep a look out for where you want to stop :)

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the marina!

The hotel is a little hard to find, but once it's found, very convenient to the airport. There are many restaurants within walking distance but the food at the hotel's water-front restaurant is as good as any. There is a small fridge in the room, no coffee pot and guests have to pay for a bucket of ice obtained at the bar. The pool is refreshing, good for families. I feel the front desk personnel was above average and helpful, but the hotel building itself was only so-so. It is certainly adequate for a short stay before or after your flight but would be disappointed to spend an entire vacation at this hotel.

It is everything that previous reviewers have said. The bed was great, the sofa may have had Pancho Villas sweat stains. The cultured marble sink was cracked, the shower was great. Balcony large, room large. Smaller hotel, maybe 80 to 100 rooms, felt homey. Not expensive and restaurant very good. Staff fine, view of marina great. Great dining around marina only steps away. Hall ways are airy and cool, even around siesta. Not far from airport and walking distance to Liverpool Mall. Old and tired, certainly, like a comfortable pair of slippers.

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms give quick access to pool area and restaurant.

The good thing about this hotel is that it was cheap to stay, cheap enough to check out early and not worry about the lack of a refund. The place was probably a decent place to stay 25 years ago. That is what I would guess to be the age of the furniture and mattresses in my room. The sofa is stained and nasty. The bed and the floor are similar in firmness. All in all everything about the place is well worn and showing a lot of wear. The restaurant is was decent and is the highlight of the amenities. It was picked for the proximity to the marina, and then came the realization of how empty the marina has become over the past year. When addressing issues with the management, I found them to be offensive, uncaring and rude. You can find much nicer places for similar budgets. You'll be happier as I was somewhere else.

Room Tip: Go somewhere else.

The Flamingo Vallarta Resort and Marina is the best place to stay! You are on the Marina, the staff are the nicest people you will meet. The rooms are very clean and the food is exceptional. Isaac in the restaurant is the best!!! This is the only place we will stay at.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the 3rd floor that overlooks the marina.
