Not only did the hotel screw up our booking and left us with rooms on floors we had not booked and as an excuse claimed their "system was down", but when we paid on our credit card they charged us twice and still, three months later, have not refunded our money because they can't seem to figure out the problem. They claimed to have credited another account and therefore have not credited our account yet. The hotel is nice and clean, some of the staff (not the front desk) were very nice, but after being so mishandled we will not be going back or recommending this hotel to anyone. Beware!

Stayed here for a long weekend in mid-December on a fantastic rate through hotwire.com. The hotel has a gorgeous private beach, beautiful rooms and friendly/helpful staff. A local bus provides easy access to town for 50 cents. The trip take about 15 minutes and drops you in the center of the Zona Romantica. If your rate doesn't include breakfast head into town to the Pancake House for delicious pancakes, eggs and blintzes at wallet friendly prices.

I hope this actually gets read by those wanting to use the 2-3-4-5 star blind pick on hotwire we chose a 4 star and the place was absolutly great, BUT....
$4 for a can coke $7.50 for a week drink $1.50 for the priviledge to sit and eat PLUS and additional $26 per day resort fee

our hotwire for 2 rooms ran about $900 for 2 rooms for 5 night not a bad deal and our final bill after the $900 was an additional $1,100 for the 2 rooms--i will say that $400 was personal stuff, but the rest were fee's etc. we only ate there once for dinner $70 and once for breakfast

Oh and I forgot the $7.40 per bottle of water inthe rooms.

Just watch what you are getting i think that hotwire is getting cheap rooms because they know you will get killed on the other side

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at the hotel, despite a few minor problems. The hotel is small compared to the mega hotels and AIs in the hotel zone and elsewhere, which is a huge plus. And the beach was clean and pretty, although I did get stung repeatedly while snorkeling one day.

On first impression, I absolutely loved the room. It was one of their basic rooms on the fourth floor, but it seemed spacious to me, with extra space for a dressing area and a wide balcony with a lovely view of the little cove.

However, the hotel service seemed off - perhaps because it was the low season? But for the price we paid, I really expected service that was more on the ball. Our first day, they delivered barely lukewarm coffee to our room. Then the maid kept removing the room service menu every day. (Finally I wised up and started hiding it.) The maids also would knock on the door and just barge in before we had a chance to answer the door. Minor stuff to be sure, but a hotel of this caliber should pay a little more attention to the details.

Pros:
- Quiet location about 15 minutes south of Zona Romantica by bus. Cab ride to the same area was 75 pesos (about $7 US). (This might be a con for some people, being so far from town.)
- It was a short trip to Mismaloya Beach and Boca de Tamatlan, where the water taxis will take you to the lovely southside beaches for 120 pesos or so, round trip.
- Great little beach and no annoying vendors.

Cons:
- Not very impressed with their Italian restaurant. (Whatever you do, don't order the tiramasu for dessert.)
- Their casual restaurant was closed.
- The lunch served poolside was very mediocre.
- Indifferent service in some cases.
