I have been to the Super Clubs Breezes AI in Brazil 2 years ago, which surpassed the Melia in every way, especially the food. The food is mediocre at best, except in the Italian restaurant, which we visited twice. The staff is attentive, and if asked will make your drinks stronger ( a tip helps). Rooms were clean, and maid service good. The resort is showing its age, and you can see cracked and missing tile around the pool and in our room. Baby center has a great certified Baby director (Carina), but this facility is very small, and not what we expected. We used Carina as a private Babysitter for our 2 girls(8 &2), and they loved her(best part of the Mela). The worst part of the Hotel is the pool, which was hotter than the outside air, which as in the high 80's and 90's ans since there is very little shade available hard for families with children.
I'll be spending my next trip at Mayan Palace Regency in Nueveo Vallerta which beats the Melia hands down.
