I have been to the Super Clubs Breezes AI in Brazil 2 years ago, which surpassed the Melia in every way, especially the food. The food is mediocre at best, except in the Italian restaurant, which we visited twice. The staff is attentive, and if asked will make your drinks stronger ( a tip helps). Rooms were clean, and maid service good. The resort is showing its age, and you can see cracked and missing tile around the pool and in our room. Baby center has a great certified Baby director (Carina), but this facility is very small, and not what we expected. We used Carina as a private Babysitter for our 2 girls(8 &2), and they loved her(best part of the Mela). The worst part of the Hotel is the pool, which was hotter than the outside air, which as in the high 80's and 90's ans since there is very little shade available hard for families with children.
I'll be spending my next trip at Mayan Palace Regency in Nueveo Vallerta which beats the Melia hands down.

My fiance and I stayed at the Melia the week starting May 20th to celebrate her birthday. The hotel is nice enough, cool lobby and our room was a decent size. I shared the same experience as others with the sales pitches, not only at the hotel but everywhere we went in PV, including the marina. In my opinion, the trade off is not worth it, especially if you only have a limited amount of time to stay. Otherwise the food was kinda above average, and I'm a New Yorker so I've dined at many celebrated establishments. The maid service was excellent, the way they finessed the towels into animals was crazy cool, and the staff was courteous from the bellhops to the restaurant employees. I wasn't really feeling the bathroom, the toilet kept clogging, but the hotel always sent someone quickly to fix it. The pool was cool but the beach was extremely wack,as other reviewers have noted. Do not expect an all the stops pulled kind of place, Puerto Vallarta has those, butt his is not one of them. If you can book this spot at a good value like I did and you don't mind vacationing a couple of notches below luxury, jump on it. We really had a good time. Keep in mind that Puerto Vallarta is a city know for its restaurants, so an all inclusive may not be the best game plan.

We paid approximately $2400 for seven nights for two adults and two children. The kids' clubs are fantastic as are the staff who organize and participate in them. The beach was a bit small but the activities day and night kept us busy. My husband was a tiny bothered by the music that played into the night but it did not bother the children or myself. Every staff member was kind and very accommodating. The kids really developed a bond with the young ladies who run the clubs. Highly recommend if you are taking the entire family!

  • Liked — Kids clubs, ease of access, staff, nightly activities, after hours sitter
  • Disliked — cost of babysitter, small beach front

The hotel was ok. The food not to bad but the grounds are in soome need of repair. The rooms where fine and clean. The timeshare people who greet you and take up all your time upon arrival are horrible and if you want to save some money on your tours, like 200.00 they trap you into seeing a timeshare and taking up hours of your time.
If you want to eat in the speciality restaurants call early or the day before because the restaurant may be empty but they only allow like 15 couples per nght, it was worth it though. I just found for what they charge, eating on your own might make sense. All the drinks are watered down and although the food is pleanty, its not worth the money spent, especially in Mexico. There are so many nice places to eat and with what you spend on the all inclusive, you would save money by staying at a higher rated EP hotel. This is by no means a 5 star resort as they advertise.
The beach is horrible and lines with locals offering no bargins. For something special take a day to to Las Calatas

I just came back from our vacation and this was a great place to stay. There was always food and the people were very friendly. The restaurants were great and with lots of variety.
The nightly shows were also entertaining. I loved the CHU-CHU-GUAA! This is such a great place for the entire family.
The housekeeper was very friendly and efficient.
The towel card is a bit of a hassle, make sure you take good care of it. I was very pleased with the price I paid and I've already booked our family vacations for next year! Can't wait!!!
