“Cannot say enough good things about the service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2014

I would say that if you are ever interested in going into the service industry as a career, it should be a requirement to go to Puerto Vallarta and stay at the Fiesta Americana to learn about the art of good service, as it is here that you will receive some of the best quality service. Everyone is so friendly, genuinely nice, professional, patient with guests who know/speak little Spanish (like me) and were eager to assist, always with smiles. From the concierge Lia (she remembered us throughout our stay and was very personable with us, she was really wonderful to talk with, very helpful), to Ivan who helped service around the courtyard/pool (he seemed to really care that we had a good experience and had what we needed), to the wait staff, the security staff, the staff running the front desk... everyone was lovely and helped to make our stay a very satisfying, relaxing, and enjoyable one. The service here is tremendous! While you may have to get used to tipping often, it is well worth the expense as these individuals work hard and do a great job taking care of their guests. The bed in our room was a little stiff, but I still slept fine; the restaurants had pretty good food overall and had a reasonable selection, though my favorite meal during our stay was actually had elsewhere. The resort is a short cab ride from the airport and only minutes from downtown, so there is a lot of convenience to the location of this resort as well as plenty of things to do on and off the resort property. Overall, I definitely recommend this resort to any travelers looking for a good beach vacation/getaway. Gracias, mis amigos, we had a lovely time!

Room Tip: The third floor and above will give you the best views.

My two night stay wasn't bad, but wasn't great; it really just 'ticked the boxes' of any major hotel at a major sea-side resort.

The on-site restaurants were over-priced (but the servings were surprisingly large) and the whole facility was clean and felt safe.

We unfortunately couldn't find time to visit the beach, but from the (decently-sized) rooms, it looked OK.

The only downside was that the metal towel-hanger in the shower fell on my toe and provided for some serious pain. I think better maintenance could have prevented this.

Other than that, location and service were decent.

Puerto Vallarta is one of my favorites resort in Mexico and I stayed at the Sheraton Bugambilias before, and the Fiesta Americana quite a few times which I like much better, and it is the first time I'm reviewing the Fiesta Americana.
My friend and I planed to go for the 4th of July weekend so we stayed there 4 nights, we arrived about 8:30 AM on Thursday 7/3/14 and were greeted at the entrance very polite and friendley, then we proceeded to check in by a wonderful young lady name Blance and I asked her for the possibility of upgrade our room, and she did, she went and taked to the manager and got our room upgraded, we were very happy about that and be able to check in right away, as we were very tired since we took the red eye from Los Angeles to Mexico City and Mexico City to Puerto Vallarta.

I love this place, is very clean, the food is great and the service is excelent, the waiters by the pool and beach area, Rafael and Carlos provided us with outstanding service and they called us by our names from the begining, they made us feel very confortable.

The room was very big, nice and clean with a spectacular view and the room services was also oustanding, the room staff will come to our room 2 times a day and surprise us with little details that made us feel great, we could not ask for more we were very please!!
I will definitely recomend this place!

Room Tip: Ask for a higher floor room.

I have written many reviews, but I am not sure of where to start with this one,.

Check-in
I knew from Day 1 that the service was going to be a bit of a challenge, but it was too late at that point. It took at least 45 minutes to get checked in because I had a special package that no one on the staff apparently knew anything about. I am SO glad I printed the confirmation email, otherwise I would have been screwed. After quite some time of going back and forth, having multiple staff members read the promotion credit language, and speaking to their timeshare people (why...I don't know...) they finally "honored" the promotion I paid for. By this point, my daughter and I were thoroughly annoyed, but refused to let that ruin our vacation.

Room
Absolutely wonderful view and I was so pleased with the way Elena kept our room clean. Perfection, to say the least! She was super pleasant and did a wonderful job. Thank you!

Food
The best dish I had during my stay was served by Rafael as I sat pool-side. It was something like a shrimp burrito. One word: Heavenly! The buffet breakfast was also very good! The other two meals we ate there (one at L'Isola and the other at La Hacienda) were mediocre. Presentation was nice, but I wasn't wowed by the dinners.

Kids Club
My daughter had a great time! The hours of the club varied so it was a bit of a challenge for me to plan my trips to the spa, but everything worked out.

Spa
I had a facial, massage, and reflexology. They were all good and reasonably priced. One of the young ladies challenged me quite a bit when I explained my promotion credit to her and insisted that I didn't know what I was talking about. After making a few calls, someone was able to explain it to her. So much for a relaxing experience at the spa...

Gym
There's a cost. I didn't know until I got there, but oh well. It wasn't much.

Timeshare Presentation
It wasn't the worst I have experienced, but I definitely was not pleased with the fact that it went over the 90 minutes.

Location
Great! It's as close as you need to be to everything and they have security.

Check-out
Just as much of a nightmare as check-in. 40 minutes of stress that I could've done without.

Final Note to Fiesta Americana PV:
Make sure your promotions are communicated to ALL staff and fully understood. If you are unable to do that, then it creates a very unpleasant experience for your guest(s).
I will return to PV for my third visit next year and will likely try another resort.

Since the very entrance every person on staff was very attentive to my needs. They welcomed me and my family with a smile on their faces. Mr. Alejandro made us feel like home. He was amazing. He answered all my questions and gave me very helpful information about the vacation club membership. I couldnt have asked for more. I defenetly recomend Fiesta Americana and I hope to go back soon.

The Fiesta Americana is a good hotel. Our kids love the pool. It's very kid friendly. The beach at hotel was large and one can spend a lot time enjoying the Pacific ocean. The pool staff was very accommodating for drinks and food. The breakfast buffet was absolutely amazing. I loved the selection of fruit and local food like plantains. I'd make a trip just for breakfast alone. I did not however eat dinner at this hotel. There are plenty of excellent restaurants in PV. There is a mall across the street where locals are. I got some fruit and water there. There's also a McDonald's and Pizza Hut in the mall if you want to something familiar from the US. The cafe that illy coffee was a major disappointment though; coffee wasn't strong enough. I want to give a shout out to Carlos and Hugo for amazing service and advice. Carlos's tip about taking the bus to old town instead of the taxi saved us a lot of money. The only downside was the sales pitch for a timeshare program. Although sitting through the pitch gave us discounts for Vallarta Adventures and $50 off food and drink. All in all, I recommend this hotel.

It's been several weeks since we left Puerto Vallarta and the Fiesta Americana hotel and I wanted to put feelings into words on what a magical place this is. As I was reading other reviews on the Fiesta Americana, they consistantly talk about the staff and the hospitality at this hotel. I have been to many high-end hotels for business and pleasure and the level of hospitality at those locations pale in comparison to the Fiesta Americana. From the time they open the door to your taxi to the last time they close the door to the taxi on your way home, each staff member was warm and authentic, willing to help with anything you required. What's amazing is the fact that you didn't need to ask. As you become comfortable with them, they greet you by name. They remember what you drink what your schedule is and what food you like. The personal touch, the smiles, hand over heart greetings make you feel more like family rather than guests. It's their hospitality that is their trademark. With great service the hotel is just a building, but the Fiesta Americana is more, designed with an impressive Palapa entry, open air front desk area, an impressive pool area and very good restaurants. Breakfast in the Chula Vista restaurant overlooking the beach and the water is spectacular and relaxing. The property is spotless with workers consistantly maintaining and cleaning. The location is perfect, with a short taxi ride anywhere in Puerto Vallarta. I would like to acknowledge several of my favorite "familia" that made our short week stay memorable, Gustavo, Hector, Carlos "Charlie" and, Rafael, working the Concierge were always helpful. Gustavo always greeted us in the morning with a smile and Rafael provided great recommendations for dining, A special greeting to Rafael who took care of both my wife and myself at the pool (you owe me a Mexico Football Jersey - just kidding!). Finally, Elena thank you for taking care of our room for us. We were very comfortable and the accomodations were first class. I'd just like to leave you with this final comment, if you want to stay at a hotel with staff that treat you like family and beautiful surroundings, the Fiesta Americana is the place for you.

Room Tip: Every room is a good room. All facing Banderas Bay. We had a lower room (3rd floor) but the view w...
