“Tremendous service!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2013

During our last visit to the Villa del Palmar, we had a wonderful time, as always. This time a friend of ours needed a wheelchair. The bellboys were SO GREAT at helping us with this!!! They are always friendly and helpful, always welcoming us with smiles and hugs and caring about our expeditions and whereabouts. The waiters are the best, even the maids are friendly and loving.
By the way, we love the vendors on the beach. They have become dear friends!
This is a great place to stay in PV, we would never stay anywhere else...we recommend it highly!!

WENT BACK TO VDP in JAN> 2013, 1 br. condo; and had a very good stay. SAFE, Clean, comfortable beds adequate kitchen, and quiet at night. I went with an open surgical wound, spent 3 weeks in Puerto Vallarta, visited hospital 3 times[about $500], and came home with a tan! [IE NO "Mexican induced infections" and help when I needed!]
I walked around the resort, had visits with many pleasant people, and went out for dinner in a cab.
This resort is lovely, and has great pool exercises and other activities. Its up to you to get to them. Lots of restaurants nearby, and ok onsite. Grocery store a short walk. Bus[ THE BONESHAKER] near front of hotel takes you everywhere. The majority of staff and local people really want the tourists to have a good time......... I will go back!

Room Tip: Plan in advance and call the resort if you are renting.

We were very happy with our stay at this hotel. We upgraded to a suite with a kitchenette so we had a fridge, stove and a coffee maker and everything you would need for cooking. Dish soap was supplied but you have to supply your own coffee. One thing we didnt like is our room was a little walk to the main pool and beach and backed to the service alley which got a little noisy. When we first arrived they put us in a room with a king bed when we needed two beds. Made one phone call and we had our room changed within a few minutes. The pools were a little chilly. Beds and pillows were comfy. Not a lot of water pressure in the shower, but in all the years we have been going to Mexico that seems to always be the case. We didnt do the all-inclusive because we always go to the malecon area for dinners. The restaurants at the resort were a little pricey. One dislike was having to pay for wireless access. $12/day! Just ridiculous! Other than that it was a very nice, quiet resort. Definitely not the place to go if you are looking for a party place.

Room Tip: Make sure to check where the front and back of the room is located.

The resort and serive was great. Great location next to downtown. Housekeeping was great. However, I wish they would not allow all the sales by locals on the beach. I would deffinately reccomend the resort to a friend.

Our 'home in Mexico'. Have been coming here for about 20 years. Beautiful beach, restaurant on the beach, friendly waiters, bell-boys. Looking for a restaurant? Just ask the bell-boys at the front desk. Each time we arrive we are greeted with hugs. Excellent service in every way. Look out for the breakfast buffet. It's addictive.

We were overwhelmed with the beautiful view from our balcony overlooking the Mexican Riveria. Our overall first reaction was , OMG! To our surprise, we not only had one hughe balcony overlooking the ocean, but two nice sized decks overlooking the pool and garden court. We also had two full bathrooms with big, deep soaking tubs . The two king size beds were very comfortable. We also had a queen pull out sofa in the TV room.
Each of the bedrooms with the king beds had a large TV so no one had to sacrafice their favorite programs.
We also had 2 kitchens with stovetop, full size refrig and 2 microwaves.

Our deck also had a private hot tub on the main deck overlooking the ocean.

The many restuarants , and the two pools were wonderful when we just wanted to relax.
The massage was one of our more decadent splurges on our vacation. The lovely tent overlooking the ocean with gentle ocean breezes helped us relax. It was well worth the money. I think it was $ 60 for a one hour massage. It is best to visit the massage spa in the hotel to arrange your massage because they do have special offers. (also massage in the hotel spa if weather is not the best)
Water aroebics are also available each day.
We opted out of all inclusive meals, because we perfer to experience fo dinning at different restuarants in the lovely Puerto Vallarta. We were walking distant to Banks, and our favorite restaurant La Leche.
We were right on the bus line and did take the bus a couple of times to explore the city.
We felt very safe, and never gave it thought to explore the downtown, walking the Melacon (broadwalk) in the evening.
Viva La Puerto Vallarta, we will be back!

We stayed here for 5 days on a deal booked online, which of course included the timeshare promo; so we wasted a half day on that, because we were not interested in the least. But it did get us a discount on the Rhythms of the Night show, which was a fun evening dinner & show, i'd recommend it. The room was great, comfortable bed, balcony overlooking the pool, and - bonus - a bathtub, not that common in Mexican hotels. We had a kitchenette & ate in most of the time, did not try the resort restaurants. Pools & hot tubs are great, they had some programmed activities but not too noisy. This resort has a narrow little strip of beach, so it's hard to get a spot there. Overall good value for what we needed (we were not really on vacation, just needed a comfortable place to stay while our sailboat was out of the water).
