“Great staff!!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2013

I come to PV fairly often and usually with friends. We always stay here due to location and the amazing staff. The rooms are just average, it really is all about their amazing staff and the great location. I recommend this hotel to everyone, just keep in mind, this is not a 5 star hotel, accommodation wise, but is 5 star thanks to the staff.

My partner and I stayed just completed our 2nd stay at HM and we have already booked our rom for next year. The HM is conveniently located, it is always very clean and the staff is so wonderful. They are friendly and attentive. We enjoy the morning breakfast and the community feel that is present among the guests. We know there are other choices, but we keep going back to HM for the things I have said above.

Staying at Hotel Mercurio is one of the things that helps make my trips to PVR so special. It's a beach side hotel that's about a thousand years old, and it reminds me of summers at the family cottage. The AMAZING staff helps perpetuate the family atmosphere as they do an excellent job maintaining the aging property and providing excellent customer service. I just don't know how you can beat it for the price...

My Partner and I stayed again in January..Again I will say a great staff that always is helpful and friendly. Rooms that are clean and comfortable. Great pool area to sit and meet other guest staying at the hotel.Age range while we where there was 20's to 60's. Most very nice but a few that didn't want to talk but thats ok too. Morning breakfast always good with selection of fresh fruit, bread and coffee cakes, fresh coffee with dulce, ALWAYS fresh eggs and an accompanying dish. What's NOT to love with Jorge in the afternoon at Happy hour. And as always, LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!!!I agree its not the freshest hotel or most modern, but we ALWAYS are treated with respect and consider MANY of the staff friends!! And Gabriel, expect a call...we WILL be coming back!!!

Really pity that this place is kept so bad..... just need small investment to change the things but probably it is only interesting to cash money.
The friendly staff ( the only nice feature of this place ) is not enough to give good evaluation of this place.

Room Tip: Before to accept the room check the situation of the bath room ......

My Partner and I just recently stayed at the Hotel Mercurio. The staff was exceptional! the place was safe and secure. Location was right where you want to be, a couple blocks from the new pier and gay beach .Great Happy hours at the pool from 3-6. Clean rooms, complimentary breakfast not your normal contint. break. They cooked up some amzing mexican dishes. And the guys who stayed there and the staff were hot! that didn't hurt any;-) Thanks for making our trip exceptional! -Tony and Levi

Just completed my fourth stay since April 2010. No major complaints and agree with the pros and cons as described by the other quests. My personal "likes" are the staff. They go out of their way to make you feel at home, are always there to help. Most of them address you by name and it sure does go a long way. The breakfast is always yummy and there is usuallay a variety.

On the flip side, the property is in need of improvements. And the housekeeping staff could do a better jobs in the rooms. They are serviced prompty each day, but grime is evident and you don't have to look to hard to notice it. Some of this is evident in the pictures posted by the other guests hat have rated here.

I sure do hope that the minor things get fixed and that the property is improved as the Mercurio is declining to "faded glory". We're not talking about installing a Jacuzzi or fancy finishings, rather some paint, updated fixtures, and general cleanliness.

Room Tip: If you are a light sleeper, do not get a pool facing room. I personally like the poolside rooms.
