“Terrific property and service.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2014

We loved our stay at Los Tules. Check in was easy, our room was really nice, the staff was very accommodating and the on site restaurant was wonderful . We could have never left the property and still had a great time.
Yes, the disco played music all night Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights but just find some way to drown out the noise, app, fan etc. All the hotels have some sort of surrounding noise.
It was nice to have so much beach frontage. There were rarely more than 20 people around us. The people that walk the beach trying to sell stuff is very annoying but you get used to telling them " no, gracias ".
The on site activity planner Ramon was especially helpful. We booked a zip line tour through him at a great price. Los Veranos. (See a different review).
The restaurant has excellent food at very reasonable prices too!

Room Tip: We were on a higher floor and had a nice view and balcony

We stayed at Los Tules in Puerto Vallarta, like we have for many years. The place is gorgeoous, but the hospitality we received from Mariette Desaulniers is what made our trip. She always made us feel at home and welcome. But this year to our dismay we found out that they replaced Mariette. So sad to see this. There goes the hospitality of beautiful Los Tules. We will truly miss her.

We LOVE Los Tules! We love it so much that we're staying here for six months (now halfway). Why do we love it? 1) The location: the local buses stop right out front and it's a short bus ride into town, to the airport, or to the marina. Also, Soriana (large grocery store) is directly across the street. 2) It's lovely: twenty acres of coconut-palm plantation, immaculately maintained, with plenty of open space. 3) It's on the beach. Plenty of palapas are available on the beach if one of the lounges by the pools (there are seven pools at Los Tules) doesn't suit you. Can't be beat!

We have been coming to Los Tules for the last 8 years and enjoy this Royal Holiday timeshare. Situated across from a Soriana Hypermarket, we make daily trips for fresh tortillas, pan dulce, and other supplies like paper towels and tequila. The grounds are safe and secure with a classic Mexican architecture. We save up for a 3 bedroom place every other year with our points and bring 3-5 friends with us to share the adventure. When you check in or make your reservation, tell the desk how many bed you would like and they will try to give you the best place they have.

There are several pools in the complex, and bring your tennis rackets as they have several courts for your use (go in the morning when it is cool). Although the restaurant on campus has an awesome view (see photos), the menu is mostly Mexican classics (with generous portions) with a daily special, so you may need to adventure out by taxi into town or up the road to try what other hotels have. We are braver and more robust souls than some so at least once a trip we walk the 30 minutes each way into town instead of taking a cab for $60-90 pesos into town for a group of 3 or 4 of us.

The Fiesta Americana next door has a small hotel gym for $80 pesos if someone needs a workout (we did from the food we ate!) or you can make your way down to Golds Gym a few blocks down the road toward town.

Room Tip: if stairs are a problem, tell them up front. Indicate how many beds you would like as well.

We were assigned a four bedroom, full kitchen room which was situated on the water. This 4 bedroom hacienda was the largest we've ever stayed in and we were literally situated on the Bay with only a little grass and a seawall separating us from the water. The landscaping in this large 20+ building complex was outstanding, very well groomed and the coconut trees were loaded with extra large nuts. The 8 pools here were kept very clean and the were very warm. It has one restaurant and the food and service was excellent. The coconut shrimp was to die for! It has an excursion booth at the main pool to accommodate visitors with excursions and actually they had the best prices we could find. We shall return again someday to revisit this resort.

Room Tip: We came through RCI and they put us up in room 5306 which was a 4 bedroom hacienda

I was staying here as part of my Royal Holiday Timeshare. The buildings and grounds are all traditional Mexican architecture. The buildings exteriors are all in good condition considering their age. The landscaping was in excellent condition and well maintained. Some units have ocean views. All units provide easy and quick access to their 7 swimming pools and the beach. This property is beautiful!

This property is mostly condominiums and time shares. Accordingly, it's very quiet and peaceful, compared to some big resorts with loud music, activities, etc. This is a peaceful, quiet place. The maid service was excellent. In room safes provide increased security for valuables. The Cafe Chapultec has decent food at a fair price with an exceptional view of the ocean and Puerto Vallarta.

Only a few concerns. Hairdryers are not provided but can be rented. Royal Holiday members are not provided access to the extensive WI-FI system there. The explanation was that the WI-FI belongs to the condo members. However, the Los Tules web site advertises free in room WI-FI. Not sure who to believe. All I know is that i didn't have WI-FI at Los Tules. In today's "connected" world, this is inexcusable. Their was a huge pile of branches, landscaping debris there that just got bigger and bigger and bigger during our two week stay. Not sure why someone didn't get rid of it. It got so big it was blocking portion of the sidewalk. The front desk check in/check out staff was less than friendly and not very helpful. When checking out, I saw one of them be very, very rude to an English speaking customer who was not being unreasonable. Because these units are mostly owner occupied condominiums, there are few public restrooms in the pool areas and they were locked. This is okay if you are using a pool near your room but if you are using one of the pools away from your room, you have to go all the way back to your room. Why lock all these public restrooms? This practice encourages using the pool and/or the ocean as a toilet!

Finally, beware. The concierges are all Royal Holiday staff and will pressure you to attend a presentation, AKA time share sales pitch. They will do this above all else, including even helping existing Royal Holiday members (me) with hair dryer problems.

Room Tip: There are no elevators on site so if access is an issue, make sure you get a ground floor unit.

This is a beautifully maintained property with at least seven pools on the beach . The location is perfect with a short ten minute ride for only seven peons to downtown and across the street there is a shopping Center with a large supermarket where you can buy everything. We have been to let's of properties over a fourth year period dropping in every few years to PVC but this is a great choice. We were lucky and did not end up with units in building one thou five which are effected at night by a neighbouring nightclub making sleep in one and two from what I am told nearly impossible beer here am.

The pools are fabulously maintained. The on site restraint s clean but needs better cooks it is not bad but not that good or the price. Units all have kitchens so you have an alternate choice. Of course the timeshare girls are there to greet everyone but they are reasonably behaved. On a side note we we offered $200 to 275 to go to a presentation and down the street about 8 blocks there s a mega store hat fellow offered us $300.. To o o a timeshare presentation. I had a friend do two and get a cheap holiday!

This is not the hotel for anyone looking or a five star resort other than the pools and well kept properties the beach is clean but not the best or worse, beach and pool chairs would be limited in peak season and here is close to half the suites owner occupied or privately leased out. Off season if you want a nice private condo unit then. This is a great choice

Room Tip: Do not allow yourself to be booked in building one or two try higher numbers
