“A Fun Beach!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2013

I always enjoy my visits to Playa de los Muertos because of the people, especially the locals who are always so hospitable and friendly. I find it's a great place to spend time for everyone, no matter what your age or interests. Also, great food vendors and servers. They all work really hard to make sure everyone is enjoying themselves!

“Morning walk+”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2013

This is a wonderful place to do a morning walk on the beach. Especially nice as the sun starts to come over the jungle covered hills. Shore fisherman, a few boats going out, quiet, peaceful, no vendors this early..
The walk over to the stairs to the 3 southern beaches is no longer good. My son and I did it one morning, and other side of stairs the land below stone walls all washed away. And you have to go down rough trail with slippery sections of loose rock to the sand. From that beach on, trail is okay to next 2 beaches.
Coming back we oped to hike up the road to catch Boca bus back to PV.

“Busiest beach in town”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2013

Los muertos is the most popular beach for locals, expats, and gays alike.mostly I think because of its location! the sand drops drastically to the water making it very difficult to jog or walk, the water is always rough with lots of big waves, but that makes it fun for boogie boarders, body surfers and water enthusiasts .
The beach can be very crowded with vast numbers of beach vendors selling everything from souvenirs, to food,to massages, to hair braiding you name it...you would never have to leave the beach if you didn't want to....everything comes to you!
There is also seadoos for rent , banana boat rides, para sailing, and even inner tubes for he little ones.
This is a great place for people watching. Catching a tune from local musicians strolling the beach for tips or drum groups and dancers!
This beach is nothing special yet it is a special place and everyone should give it a try in my opinion!

“Its the best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2013

Playa Muertos can be crowded, but still a great beach to spend the day & enjoy the sunsets. Many good restaurants & beach bars. Yes there's a lot of venders & they add to the fun. Swimming can very on the tides.

“There's nothing "dead" about this Sassy Gay Beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2013

While locales and their infinite brood (what 2 children families?!) abound - at play in the beach or simply following mamma, papa or abuela around for the day - this is not a beach to bring your own young'uns unless you want them to cach an eyeful as to how the hedonistic and epicurean centered homosexuals live their lives - they are out and proud and living life to its most colorful fullest - and God bless 'em for their hard won freedoms.
