“Wonderful 5 Days in PVA”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2013

Res made thru Marriott. As a Marriott Rewards member we were greeted by bellboy, given a key and sent on our way to our room. No need to proceed to reception desk. 3 minutes later luggage arrived with reg card and cc voucher.......most efficient. This avoided long and VERY slow line at reception. Pool service was terrific as the pool boys remembered our name after first encounter. Lots of beach towels without usual hassle of signing etc. Casitas restaurant excellent, very friendly staff and prompt service.
Requested late check out of 1 hour but was refused.....no reason given other than "it's a rule". Seems no one is empowered to made a insignificant decision. Check out VERY slow, not enough cashiers and quite bureaucratic with paper, vouchers, copies etc. All in all a very good 5 days.
We had to cancel the Dollar Rent a Car which we booked and confirmed thru Expedia for 4 days @ $80 US plus $80 US for insurance, as upon arrival Dollar wanted to immediately charge my cc $1,500 US as a deposit. In the end we did not need the car as taxis are plentiful, secure and inexpensive. Finally, town is clean and very secure and has many good restaurants.

Room Tip: Rooms on 5th Floor and above facing pool, beach and town are better and get morning sun.

I had the opportunity to overnight at the CasaMagna Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa after the conclusion of a conference "down the road". It was excellent. The staff could not be more helpful.....the pool/beach area was very nice. The lobby bar has an amazing view of the ocean and the wifi throughout the hotel was excellent. **Tip** There is a small boutique shop just off the lobby - it is NOT to be missed. Amazing handbags, jewelry, scarves, etc. from local crafters....and the prices are incredibly reasonable. The guestrooms have amazing views and are very well appointed and comfortable. I look forward to returning to CasaMagna Marriott for a longer stay!

Room Tip: I had a high floor, view of the pool/beach/ocean.....Gorgeous!

This is a very nice resort, we were very happy staying here.clean and good service. We met Elizabeth who is a service rep for the Marriott. she was really nice. and no pressure to buy a time share. It was nicely located to the town and the pool side and ocean front was wonderful.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights, having booked it on AA Vacations. Had a good package that included a $50 per day resort credit. We had an oceanview room that was very nice. Bed was great, spacious room. The view was really good considering where we were. The restaurants were excellent, especially the breakfast buffet. Lots of shopping and eating options in the Marina District.
The beach was nice, with no garbage. The sand was a little on the dirty side, but was adequate.
We used the Spa for the fitness room as well as a massage. Both were above average. The hotel also releases sea turtles at various times of the year, and it was very nice to participate.
All in all a great trip. We would return.
The only downside was the amount of people bothering us trying to sell timeshares, activities and cheap jewelry. "Gracias, no" is my new favorite expression. I would hope that Marriott will work to curtail these people from actively bothering their guests on the hotel property.

Room Tip: Ocean front or Ocean view seem to be good choices.

Dear guest,

Thank you for choosing to spend your vacation with us, I am very happy to hear that your time here was so pleasant and enjoyable.

It is also great to hear that you had the chance to visit our Spa and participate in our Turtle release program.

Regarding your uncomfortable experiences with the vendors, I want to thank you for bringing this matter to our attention; even though vendors are not allowed to pass our cordoned-off area on the beach, they do pay for special permissions to sell on the beach, as it is a Federal Zone.

I will be looking forward to seeing you here soon again and in the meantime I will be happy to assist you with any additional requests or feedback you may need, please contact me at mhrs.pvrmx.dor@marriotthotels.com

This hotel has a great beach, large warm pool, four restaurants and very comfortable beds. But, charging $36 MXN for the first package of in room coffee is downright cheap. I have stayed at hundreds of hotels, including many Marriott's, and have never been charged for use of the coffee machine in my room.

This is a typical resort style hotel. Lots of lovely open spaces and pools . The red roof, peach stucco high rise of balconied rooms, front the beach and the sun pours down. Very large breakfast room open til 11;30 with lots of choice and all beautifully prepared and displayed on two large buffet stations. Regular american/british breakfast foods, mexican favourites and made to order omelettes, lots of fresh fruits and pastries. No need to worry about the 'water' here. Pleasant rooms nicely decorated. Busy staff keeping up with the maintenance. The place is a bit older but very well taken care of. Location is great. Near to airport, across the road form the Marina where there are lots of restaurants, and the golf course, of course! 20 min taxi ride into town but for a short visit no need to venture far.Beautiful scenic spot with mountains all round, and the sun sets over the ocean. Great escape!

Room Tip: It's worth getting a room facing south east in the 'other 'tower. . The main tower does...

This resort is located on the marina side of PV- just a short jaunt from the airport. It’s a five minute walk to the marina itself, lined with a variety of restaurants, shops, and beautiful yachts. Two days was plenty of time to explore this side of town, but I wouldn’t recommend much longer than that unless you’re staying at an all-inclusive where you don’t plan on leaving much anyway.

The rooms, pool, spa, and grounds of the CasaMagna are stunning (more beautiful than the pictures on their website show). What really made our stay here so spectacular was the spa. We scored an amazing deal that included two daily massages, but even if you had to pay for it, it would totally be worth it. (Ask for Blanca, she was amazing!)

I also loved their sea turtle release program. Once in a lifetime experience! And the nightly sunsets we watched from the pool bar were out of this world (sipping on non-alcoholic fruity umbrella drinks of course).

Room Tip: All the rooms seem to have a pretty decent view. We got put in one in the very far back corner and c...

Dear guest,

I am very happy to know what a great experience you had during your past vacations at our property. It is great to know you had the chance to live the experience of releasing a baby turtle, which we agree this is a lifetime experience.

Thank you as well for your kind words regarding the Spa, we will happily congratulate Blanca for the exceptional work she is doing with our guests.

We hope to have you as our guest again. If you have further feedback you wish to share or need any additional assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me at mhrs.pvrmx.dor@marriotthotels.com
