“Wonderful Vacation with hubby and the kids!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2012

We had a wonderful nine days here. We had two rooms that were large and very nice. The staff were so great and helpful. The kids loved the pool, it is large but needs to be updated. The swim up bar had great drinks for all of us. We all loved the baby turtle release in the evening.
We looked at the breakfast buffet but we did not think it looked all that great. We loved walking to the marina at night and in the day. Most of the restaurants are very good. We also felt very safe!!! The only complaint would be that they did not clean our room everyday and when they did it was not the best.

This Marriott has a decent breakfast buffet and most of the rooms have been renovated but it's the little things that matter. Check in is slow and unfriendly, the pool is crumbling, and when we invited some locals to spend the day at the pool with us they insisted on charging them $30 each. I guess they must be hurting or stupid cause these folks were hungry and thirsty.
There is lots of choice in PV to stay so this should get a miss. And the beach here is mediocre...go to nuevo for a decent span of beach and hotels that really understand service.

We spent three nights at this Marriott Resort. We loved it. We had an ocean view room. The breakfast buffet was outstanding. Staff were very attentive. The pool staff checked in just enough to see if we needed anything. The concierge staff were very helpful. We especially enjoyed checking the status of the turtle eggs each morning.

Had a very enjoyable stay. Hotel was clean, staff was friendly, and the breakfast was great!
Overall a very nice property, and a nice pool. The rooms were large, and the beds are comfortable. We really enjoyed the breakfast. Great selection of items, and loved that they have it available till noon, for those days you want to sleep in.
If you want a great stay book yourself here!

This was a return trip we were there in April and decided to go back again on Nov 12th-19th, it was to say the least one of the most relaxing trips we have had in the 23 yrs going to P.V. The service was great and although the wkd was a Mexican Holiday and the resort was filled with people the service was still great. We will definitely be back soon!!!! A special Thanks to the people who work at the pool, giving out towels and doing activities especially water aerobics and getting us an umbrella when we needed it for shade. Also a special Thank You to the aiters who went out of their way to serve us drinks and food you are the people who made our stay wonderful. See you all soon. Lou & Joann Rota

that was the second time that we stayed in Marriot Casa MAgna Vallarta , we love it the first time in 2010 that's why we come back in November 2012 cause we love the service, the bedrooms, and the breakfast everything in the breakfast buffe is really delicious; Also if you can you should try the Japannese restaurant is another restaurant inside in the resort, the food is amazing and they have a very special service. We love CasaMAgna and for the next time we will back to marriot, cause the beach is so clean and private, is near from the Marina harbor if you have plan some tours so many tours start from there cause you have to take a boat. so the position is great.

we really love it :D

This is the 4th year in a row we've stayed at the CasaMagna Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa and each time seems to get better. We have always stayed around the last couple of weeks of October because of the better specials (check out the Sand Dollar rate at this time of year, a little over a $100, per night, every 4th night is free, and you get $50 resort credit for each day you stay) and the weather is usually getting better about then too. Since the hotel is not really crowded until the first part of November, I think the service is even better than normal because you are competing with less guests than peak seasons. Also, if you stay for Oct 31 to Nov 2, you and see all the Day of the Dead festivities in the hotel and all over town. That is a real treat, and if you find the cemetery in town, there is all sorts of decorations, music, and food, all celebrating the lives of those who have gone on. This is a wonderful part of the culture in Mexico!

The Concierge team does a marvelous job of making sure you are happy, so be sure to let them know if you have any special requests or needs. The dining is great at the hotel, with our favorite being the huge breakfast of fresh pastries, fruits, juices and local dishes, and there is even an American style section if you have kids that like to stay with pancakes, waffles, omelets, bacon, etc. This is served until noon, so you can make that breakfast buffet one of your big meals of the day. The other restaurant out by the beach (Las Casitas) has some wonderful dishes (our favorite was the Tuna and the Sea Bass), and a great Tequila bar for drinking or some lessons on tasting and comparing fine tequilas. There is also a very nice Japanese restaurant (Mikado's) and a nice sports bar (Champions).

The outdoor pool is an Infinity Pool with a swim up bar, and there is nothing better than ordering Seafood Ceviche, or fresh Coconut (this isn't on the menu so just ask if they have it that day, they do most days) that you can drink the juice out of, and then when you are done with the coconut juice, ask them to bring the coconut meat back and put lime and hot sauce or hot powdered spice on it with lime. If you've never tried it this way before, you are in for a treat!

If you are there around this time, there is a turtle release program that happens almost every evening a little before dusk, right in front of the pool area. You get to hold a turtle and release it to the ocean. It is great for children and adults.

The spa is very luxurious and will make you feel pampered beyond belief. You have to check this out. There is a large exercise room that looks very comprehensive, but we haven't used that.

You will find the hotel and rooms very nice and the view from the rooms is great. We like the rooms facing the pool and the ocean or facing the pool and the town, the best. The location of the hotel is not really close to downtown, but it is just a few blocks (easy walk) to the Marina. The Marina has a lot of restaurants and shopping and is very relaxing. You will encounter timeshare sales people everywhere you go in Puerto Vallarta and the Marina is no exception. You won't run into that at the hotel.

From the hotel you can take taxis (bellmen are happy to have one come pick you up with about 30 seconds wait time at the most) and they will cost from 60 to 100 pesos (about $5 to $7.50 US), depending if you go to just before town with 100 being all the way to the old downtown. Right outside the hotel is a street where you can ride a bus to downtown, very simple with every Blue and White bus going downtown, for 6.50 pesos (about 50 cents) per person. This is a fun way to see the sights and is very safe. The bellmen can explain what buses to look for to come back, and you can get a map from the Concierge's desk to help you out too.

The shopping that you will really enjoy in Puerto Vallarta, is the Silver, tequila, and all sorts of souvenirs. Fine dining is everywhere downtown, and we really love the little street tacos and small simple restaurants off of the beaten path.

We really love this hotel, and this area and will continue to go there every year! Hope this helps with your research.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the pool and town are the absolute best (nice view and afternoon sun), and the next bes...
