Decided to go on an excursion on one of our last days in PV. Had to choose the one that fit DD wants and needs... This one won over the pirate ship just because she really wanted to do the zip-lining.
We purchased the trip right at the lobby of our resort, for the 2 of us the price was $140 US.
With staying at Crown Paradise we could just walk right over to the port to get on to the boat this was a plus.
Took the second trip out of the day, the morning one was full. Left at 11:30 and returned at 6:00. We were the second group to get picked up the first was from Nuevo Vallarta. Sat on the top deck of the boat and the view was just amazing of PV's coast line. Have not been on a boat on the ocean for many years...what a beautiful sight. The day was gorgeous the ocean was calm so this was just an extra special bonus to our day.
I believe it was about a 45 min to a hour ride...crew gave us our safety tips and then proceed to serve us our drink of choice. People went around on the boat to set up a few different programs (some were and extra fee)..things like massages, diving, snorkeling with the Sea Lions And clay modeling. On the way we paused by Los Arcos they gave us a little history and many people were around this area relaxing, snorkeling and swimming. The crew also entertained us with a bit of dancing.
Upon arrive to our destination...WOW ...this would be a great place to get stranded..like a gorgeous tropic island in the middle of nowhere (but it is not an island it is part of the mainland)
The only way you can get to LC is by boat...there are no roads. After departing the boat from the dock.... a gentleman serenading us with some music there was a little water fall and many tropical plants. A spot was set up and photographer took pictures of us with people dressed in costumes I believe like they would be wearing at "Rhythms of the Nights" show a Pre-Hispanic look. We proceed to our buffet that was waiting for us by the waters edge ( I could really get use to this).
After eating we wondered around to get our bearings and ended up by the Parrot and Monkey Encounter...there was also a very large snake. Had a great time with the animals.
Went over to one of the beach areas where you could use kayaks, water tubes and hang out in the water and lounge on the beach...beautiful area. Bar area was near and a waiter would come around and serve you drinks...My choice..... a lot of bottled water...it was very warm and not much for a breeze...got a bit overheated. DD played in the water and on some of the tubes and I sat and daydreamed.
It was zip-lining time....walked up quit a few steps. Meet the professional crew that helped the kids to learn about the safety of zip-lining. They fitted them with all of their equipment..hats and such and then proceed to go up more steps. Came to a caged area where the kids went in side....and then all of a sudden there were little monkeys all over them...the kids loved this. Went a bit further...... it was time for us adults to go to work...what...I had to pull my DD up a trail on a donkey/mule so she could go ....zip-lining...something is just not right...LOL
Dropped the kid off at the top in the good hands of their instructors and we walked back down to our original training spot. There was a wonderful person back there waiting to take our drink order...because of all of our hard work. I enjoyed a margarita :) The adults sat a chatted for a bit while waiting for our kids to be strung from a wire and fly thru the air..lol . They did one line out of our sight and cross a traitorous bridge ( just kidding) hook to a safety line. Then it was their big performance....each one of them came down the line in front of the waiting parents in a different silly position...this was great !! We could take pictures a professional photographer for our boat group was running around taking pictures of us and you could purchase pictures and or videos of your fun filled day.
Had some time left and DD and some of the other kids wanted to to back to the beach and sit on the tubes and hang out on the waves. I sat and daydreamed again... look over a little cliff in a comfy chair with and ice cold water, gazing at my surrounding and watch my daughter have a great time laughing and playing with other kids in the ocean.
It was time to depart from my little paradise and head back to the boat...they had a place where you would tip for your day of service.
Back on the boat we could have more drinks if wanted...we sat on the upper deck again but right on the floor in front of the captain's area...the crew put on some more entertainment... on the lower deck but right in front of us (these were great seats) with some silly wigs and such and pantomimed many songs. Back to the port, tipped the boat crew and they were off to drop off the other people at Nuevo Vallarta.
The crew told us we were lucky because usually this boat is packed....and yes it was very nice having a smaller group and pretty much free to walk around the boat to and from LC.
Make sure you bring a camera, swimsuit, walking shoes, if you are going to do some exploring, sunscreen, and maybe a light jacket...just in case it's a cooler day for the boat ride.
******if you have problems walking or with steps this really would not be a good excursion.
