“Great All Around Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

We just spent 4 nights five days here for Labor day weekend. The staff were freindly, helpful and attentive, they all spoke very good english. Check in was fast (we got lucky with timing, check out was not as fast, and the line can get long) The food for the most part was good, they have two al acarte theme restaurants (Brazila nd international) the food was okay.. teh buffet was just as good if not better. Breakfasts buffet was great.. all in all for teh all inclusive package, it was good. teh drinks were even pretty good.
The room was clean every day, well kept,a nd teh grounds were well manicured.
Teh beach and pool area were greta as well.
The location is in Centro a short walk to teh Malecon and there is plenty to do (shops, restaurants, bars) the people were very frienly.
It was a great stay and we would stay there again!!
if you want to do a tour or attraction.. walk down the road to one of the storefronts tour places..better deals. Also.. you will be hounded for time share presentations, so just say no

Room Tip: most rooms have a view of ocean

We had a nice stay at this resort. 2 couples in our late twenties. Here are my thoughts:

Pros (overall at this resort and PV:
The hotel was was about 10 minutes (walking distance) from the flea market and the boardwalk (where there is more shopping, statue art and site seeing). We went there everyday. I love adventures in the city. :)

There are several taco stands in walking distance from the hotel. We tried like 5 different places to see which is better. I would say stick to the carts for tacos, can't go wrong. We tried 3 restaurants. Pepe's (not worth it), another one that was literally on the left hand side when you walk out of the hotel (too expensive) AND ROMA ITALIA (MUST TRY)! Roma served Italian food. We tried their pizza and wings. LOVED IT! If you go to PV, make sure to eat at this place. We had to take a taxi to Roma, (about 15-20 walking distance, but too hot to walk that far sometimes).

Taxis: Bargain anywhere from 20-40 pesos, but no more than 50 (to and from the hotel to the market). To and from the airport should be no more than 200 pesos, but we were able to get one for 100 going back to the airport. Whoohoo!

The staff are really nice! Hola to our the bartenders NICOLAS and EDGAR!

Restaurants: There were only 3 restaurants. (Pro and Con to this since it is a very small boutique resort). However, our favorite was the Brazilian night and the Mexican Buffet for either Breakfast or Lunch at Frutas de Flores. Frutas de Flores turns into 2 sections at night for dinner (for whichever theme they choose that night). The other restaurant was by the pool. Whichever you go to, make sure to make reservations with your concierge. The 3rd restaurant was Italian. The ONLY good thing on the menu was their ribs. Let me say, this resort can make some really good ribs! I was impressed and my stomach was satisfied. :)

Room Con: Our room kinda of smelled... and the restrooms really needs some updating. Old tiles and black mold spots. (That could be where the smell is coming from)

Room Pro: The bedroom is nice and comforter is comfy though so not too bad. There was a small mini bar which they stock up everyday (water, soda and beer). Try to upgrade yourself to the end rooms which over looks the ocean. We had a partial ocean view. Only the rooms all the way near the pool has the view.

Beach CON: This location does not have any white sand or blue water. We didn't see many people swimming in the ocean (not sure why, but we didn't bother to check it out). I believe their beach connects to 5 different rivers so this beach has brown water. If you are looking for blue water and white sand beaches, this particular resort isn't what your looking for. There were no servers out on the beach. So if you want a drink, go to the bar by the pool and get it yourself.

Beach PRO: Nice lounge chairs out there for you to use. There are vendors trying to sell you stuff, but they are cut off by a roped off section that they have to stay behind. So just nicely say no if you dont want anything and they leave you alone.

Pool CON and PRO: There are only 2 pools. Technically, one big one and the other one has about 8 tiled lounge chairs in them and is very narrow and small. Literally big enough to fit 8 people or so. The pro is that at least they have a pool. The bar by the pool can get crowded, so we always got our drinks at the bar in the lobby.

If you are looking for a resort where you are right smack in their flea market/shopping area, than this is the place. The crowd/tourist here is very nice, but not many are real tourists. There are a lot of people from near by cities like Guadalajara that come here with their families for a wedding or to relax. We stuck out like a sore thumb (we're from the US and asian), so you can see there were a lot of head turning. But, I have to say everyone was extremely nice and the service was awesome. Oh, and everyone's English was great! So we didn't have a hard time communicating with the taxi guy, flea market vendors, or staff at the resort. Lastly, we didn't try any excursions, but there are plenty of those. Check around for prices at the resort and outside travel agents down the street of the resort, but to be safe book it at the resort.

I loved the hotel, it was super nice the service was excellent from the beginning, they greeted us with drinks for both my husband and I as well as a little drink for my 4-year old. We arrived 2 hours prior to check in and they gave us our hotel room right away. The room was very comfortable and super clean. The bellboy was super nice and promptly brought our luggage. There were 3 restaurants and they were all excellend we specially enjoyed the one with a buffet and the choices were endless. The service was great. The staff was super friendly and made us feel welcome. The themed nights were a blast! We sure enjoyed them! the pool was also great and super clean and everything was just beautiful a true vacation! we will definetely stay there again!!! This is a great hotel for families!

The only good service was that the hotel held our luggage for us while it came around for check in time ! From the start the front desk gave us the run around about check in time, when it came time to go get our luggage that they were holding, the bell boy lost our luggage. Told us to wait in the lobby and we had to cancel our spa treatments since our room was delayed because when it came to check in time the room wasn't ready. Overall service was horrible, didn't apologize for having us wait , nor cancel our spa appt or losing our luggage. It seemed like every other person that was checkin in was getting a room and we were on hold for an unknown reason. Horrible service, price great but rather pay for a real five star hotel that has people who know what they are doing and considerate that it's a vacation, not an obligation to stay at this particular hotel. It was recommended to us , I would not recommend this hotel poor service very inconsiderate.

I've been to several resorts and this one wasn't the greatest but the food and service was good! The jaccuzzi wasn't available the entire time we were there.

Room Tip: If you have small kids, DO NOT get a room with a balcony!

This past June I stayed in PV for 1 week. Having travelled previously to PV I have wanted to check this property out.My friend and I were greeted by one of the finest hotel concierges I have ever met. Here name is Paloma. The hotel staff and service rates as high as any hotel I have stayed at in the world. Equally great were the restraunt staff and the food selection and quality. The rooms were good for the hotel rating and always spotless. The selling feature to me has always been the location of this property. Since the huricanes in the early 2000's the PV beach is really hit and miss but the one here is fabulous. The 15 minute walk to the malecon and all of its fun makes it an easy stroll to downtown rather than a hot bus ride or taxi fare. Although small by PV standards the Pool area and restraunts had plenty of room even when the hotel was sold out. I will return to this hotel again and will recommend it to anyone who likes a more personal size resort.

Room Tip: If possible upgrade to an ocean view balcony room as the ocean is right there close to the hotel

This was one of my favorite trips! The location is perfect as you can walk right downtown to the Malecon boardwalk area. The rooms were very clean and well kept, and the property was nice. The food was pretty good, and just what you needed. We met lots of nice people from all over the world on this trip, and I would definitely stay here again!!
