We recently spent two weeks at this hotel, the staff were very helpful and readily handled any issues. The pools are great and a nice way to excape the beach vendors. We were on the braekfast plan and that worked out well, there is not a lot of variety, and refried beans and french fries for breakfast was odd. I'm a cereal and toast person, so that worked out. The waiters were helpful and helped me learn some basic Spanish phrases. The beach area was nice, lots of palpas available and nice chairs were set up. The drawback is the constant stream of vendors trying to sell their wares. The ocean here is dangerous unless you are a strong swimmer, I was tumbled and lost my glasses. The hotel is close to many restaurants, some godd others no so. Be careful where you eat. Overall I liked the hotel, the shower was wondeful, lots of nice hot water. One drawback is this one key per couple rule. I wanted to do one thing and my wife something else, so you were constantly trying to coordinate where to meet and what time. Surely the cost of cutting two keys per room would not break the bank. Be cautious about the phone charges by the hotel for all types of phone call, even collect, they still charge a fee. A real benefit are the free towels available off the main lobby. You sign them out and return them each day at no charge. You can leave a tip if you wish. We had a standard room, with an ocean view, it was lovely and well appointed.
