“Great location for sightseeing old PV”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2012

My friend and I chose this hotel for a quick trip to PV from up the coast to do some sightseeing in Pv and visit all the local art galleries. Our room had two comfortable beds and was small but sufficient for are requirements. I did notice a slight moldy smell from the washroom so limited my time in there and it did not travel into the sleeping area room although we were only in the room for sleeping in the evening after two long days of sightseeing. We had the complimentary breakfast buffet both days and found it very good and the staff was pleasant. We did not use the facilities for an evening meal or lunch as there are so many other options in this area of PV. We did have a massage at the hotel spa good price and a very relaxing massage. I would reccoment this hotel first for the location you are close to everything and it is a great experience to visit this part of PV. We did not find it to noisy at night-maybe we were just exhausted but we slept soundly. The staff was pleasant and helpful a good value for the price

Room Tip: We checked out the room location prior to accepting a room. The best of course would be the top floo...

We stayed at los Arcos Suites for eleven nights, and would definitely recommend this hotel despite our problem with the first room we had. The first room was musty. We put up with it for four nights and then asked to switch rooms, and were able to do so over the noon checkout period. The second room was MUCH better. The “suite” offered at this hotel is an elongated room with a small kitchen area, a comfortable king size bed, two pull out sofas, and a small balcony. The bathroom is “different”. There is a small room with a toilet and a decent size shower stall, but the washbasin is in the main room. While different, this arrangement actually works quite well. The kitchen area has a sink, a small refrigerator, a two-burner stove, kettle, toaster, and a supply of plats, glasses and cutlery. The was a dresser with six good size drawers and a good size closet with 12 hangers and a safe large enough to take most laptops. The windows are fitted with blackout curtains. Daily maid service keeps the room spotless. The hotel is located half a block up a quite dead end street, but just off Olas Altas, and a block and a half from Los Muertos beach. Big beach towel are available at the nearby Los Arcos Hotel on Olas Altas, and guests of the Suites can use the pool etc. at the hotel.

This is their m.o. no matter where you made your reservation: put you in a cruddy room (really, really cruddy no open windows and smelling like mold) the first night or two and make you run the gauntlet at the front desk to get a decent room for the following nights. Although we really love the location of this place (in the heart of zona romantica and within short walking distance from all kinds of great restaurants) and most of the folks (particularly in the restaurant and on the beach) we sadly won't come back because of the bait and switch on the rooms. No one wants to spend vacation wrangling with the implacable rather unfriendly forces of the concierge and the front desk gals.

Room Tip: Insist on seeing the room before taking it and book with an agency rather than an online booking ser...

Stayed there for 3 nights. The rooms are OK nothing fancy. Nice little balcony. The bathroom is very very small. The hotel is nice, it's a 3 star ONLY. We did not take the all inclusive because there are really good restaurants in Puerto Vallarta. Perfect location in the old PV. Walking distance of everything. Lot's of older persons. There was one lady around 75 years old that was walking in the pool for approximately 1h00 with her head phones and dancing away. It was cute but !!!. You need to watch for falling fruits by the pool. One fell on a long chair. Lucky nobody was sitting there at the time. Let's just say that her book was full of green stuff. It's a very quiet hotel which was nice. The service is OK. The pool is very nice. For the location i'ts worth it.

tayed in 2 different rooms during our 7 night stay, 3 in room 3 (on the ground floor) and 4 in room 309. The ground floor room had no windows so it was very dark which could be a benefit if you like to sleep in the dark. A benefit was your door opened out on the pool and since ours was in the corner, we had a little patio all to ourselves. I wanted more sun so they switched us up to the 3rd floor where we had more or less the same layout, but a patio in the back with a table a few chairs where we could look out to the street. Since there were windows by the front door, we were also able to get a great breeze. We loved the location. It’s at the end of a quiet street off the main street. It’s across the street from Don Susanna and its’ rooftop pool (which is semi heated and gets a lot of sun. The pool at the suites, while heated as well, didn’t get much sun in January. There was a large bed and a pull out couch. You could easily sleep 3 or 4 comfortably. Having a kitchen is GREAT. You can make coffee and breakfast before heading out, although there’s some great breakfast places within feet. Alternately, you can do a lunch or dinner at home and save on the nearby restaurants relatively high prices. As you move farther inland, the prices drop and that’s not a far walk at all. The staff was very friendly to me, was willing to help me practice my Spanish, and really tried to make sure we were happy. It’s not a 4 star property, but the price is very low and you get much more than you pay for. We would definitely return.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a higher floor. #'s 1-9 will have more opportunity to get a breeze. Room 1 wil...

Rooms are adequate and the location is great - there is not much more that could be said as we did not have all inclusive

The suites are still a great value as the rooms are roomy and the kitchenette allows you to prepare morning coffee while your partner wakes up and showers.

The all-inclusive food was "good" to "very good" with a broad selection at each meal. There is a good mixture of dishes during each week - there are three special nights: BBQ, Italian, Mexican. Even on the four other nights there is daily variation so meal boredom does not set in. In addition to the normal buffet selection, the hotel provides vouchers -- a "BBQ" dinner one for those staying for at least 4 days and a "speciality" dinner one for those staying for 7 days. The BBQ dinner menu is short and the meals are just OK -- BUT the speciality dinners are excellent (be sure to try the endive salad). Both presentation and the meal itself are top quality.

For those wanting a daily dose of gringo food they have a great "snack" bar with hamburgers hotdogs fries, etc. that is open all afternoon.

The drinks are great but, oddly, the hotel seems to restrict the all-inclusive people to only a couple of local beers - while we were there the selection was Tecate and Indio. An odd practice.

Service from all staff - reservations, front desk, busboys, maid, waiters, bar staff, restaurant greeters, buffet cooks, beach chair/towel service, entertainers, etc was great and all were friendly to us throughout our trip.

If you are looking for a comfortable, relaxing hotel with a good mix of gringos and nationals and a mix of young families and older couples I highly recommend the Los Arcos properties.

Room Tip: Upper floors and junior suites overlooking the pool area are the quietest
