I shouldn't write this review, because this restaurant might become more discovered than it already is. Right now it is mainly known by locals (both Mexican nationals and others) and those who stay at the Hotel Lindo Mar. La Playita's dining area is slightly elevated above the ocean on a pocket beach with crashing waves on big rocks; I've seen whales nearby in season. Also Brown Pelicans and the Magnificent Frigate Bird. The food is reasonably priced with large margaritas and Mexican beer available. (The wine choices are essentially "red" or "white", so consider going elsewhere if you're celebrating a special occasion and want a full service wine list, although the ambiance is so wonderful that usually even wine snobs don't complain.) For regulars, you will notice that the menu doesn't change, but you can always have a traditional Mexican plate or the fresh fish of the day "a la plancha" or "Lindo Mar". I have been to La Playita alone, with family and friends and for business meals. It feels mostly non-touristy and always welcoming. The service is usually very good. I think on weekends they only do buffets for breakfast/brunch (which I personally don't care for anywhere), but anytime you can order off their a la carte menu, you will do just fine. A nostalgic piece of old time Mexico, with beautiful view, crashing surf and a reasonable bill.
