“Best ceviche in town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 17, 2013

Lime marinated shrimp, avocado, onions etc....my favorite ceviche in Puerto Vallarta! I also had the whole red snapper which was crispy on the outside & moist inside! Melissa's is always on our list of restaurants to go to each year!

“Excellent Fish”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2013

My wife & I stopped in for a late lunch on our first day in town. My wife had deep fried Red Snapper and I had Dorado. The decor is simple, unassuming and the place is clean. It is just short way back from the malecon, which makes for a nice place to stop when you are carrying the better half's days shopping. Knock back a cool one and eat a nice lunch of fresh fish. My wife raved about her deep fried snapper and I admit it was done to perfection, not over cooked as it easy to do. The cheeks of the fish were still tender and the flesh meaty. The filets of Dorado were firm but still flaked nicely. Both meals came with vegetables and rice. Both entrees ran in the $ MP 415.00. Although it was a late lunch it was essentially a dinner and we found the cost to be reasonable.

“Hidden gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2013

This is a wonderful family owned restaurant just up from the Malecon in the old town. You can see where the cooking is done in the open and the quality and flavours were authentic and full of flavour. Very friendly service, and best tortilla soup in Puerto Vallarta. Small but always busy and we made a point of making a return visit in the two weeks we had there.

“Always a delight!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2013

We discovered Melissa's last year on our first time back to PV since 2005 and we've been back a number of times. This year we had the pleasure of taking our daughter, her husband and our two grandchildren with us on one occasion and on another it was my wife's brother and his wife, visiting from Rincon de Guayabitos.
Everyone was delighted with the food and pleasant atmosphere.
We have all tried different dishes and never found one we didn't like. Oddly enough, I had the best steak in this seafood house.
This is all family run and the boss cooks too. They are all quite delightful and it's fun to interact because everyone speaks English.
If you are nice, you could get a complementary shot of Tequilla after your meal. It's the best.

“Must go with our friends”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2013

Whenever we have friends come down to visit, our very first stop is at Melissa's. Have had almost everything on the menu from the giant shrimp to a burrito, and never a bad meal. Always warm and welcoming when you hit the door. Always great service along with the great food. And the shot of Tequila on the house after dinner will get you going for the rest of the evening. Have been there many times this winter and never disappointed.
