“Nice place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2013

If you are looking for a mid-priced hotel on the beach in Mazatlan, this is a really great option. The hotel is old, but has been renovated and looks great. Its clean, and the room I stayed in (hotel room with 2 double beds) was perfect. The only drawback is no safe inside the room. Otherwise everything worked... the TV was new... Beddings were easy to sleep on... no bad smells, and the maid service was excellent.

The location is good. Its only a 25 minute walk to the Malecon, and the beach is easy to walk on. The only issue I had with the INN was the fact that at 9am, there was not 1 single chair available around the pool! All the chairs were occupied by towels. This is a common problem at all the resorts, as people get up early to "save their spot".

Overall, this is a very good place to stay. I will stay there again, but normally I travel in off-season because I don't like crowds. I think the hotel has too many rooms, and not enough space to put everybody around the pools...

Room Tip: There are a few different buildings, but all the rooms face the ocean. I would ask for a room on the...

Dear Craig

It is very pleasant to hear that your experience at The Inn was positive and that you found our Resort very convenient, we have been updating part of the equipment in order to satisfy our guest demands; the resort is nicely located in the heart of the golden zone. The pool areas become quite busy since early morning in these days, however we will reinforce our internal rules to avoid an inconvenience to anyone else; again thank you for staying with us & we hope to host you again on your next visit to Mazatlán.

Best regards,

I am a timeshare owner who has been coming to the Inn at Mazatlan for over 27 years. I have enjoyed this year as the staff was very helpful and appears to really enjoy their work. The staff want so accommodate your requests. Since I was staying for 2 weeks I didn't want to change rooms during my stay and they were able to make that happen. The front desk Monica was always smiling and so very helpful. I want to point out the staff has been there consistently, Manuel in the front door, Al the Bartender and Rosa my maid for more than 15 years. It's on the beach and the sunsets are not to be missed.

Room Tip: All rooms have a ocean view. I like staying on the bottom floor of the hotel near the pool. They a...

While spending two weeksa at Emerald Bay, we ate thee meals at the Inn at Mazatlan restaurant. Not only is the food great, but the staff is excellent. Most of the restaurant staff have been working there for over 25 years and went out of their way to assure their service was the best. The menu is excellent and a person can't go wrong with any selection.

The manager told us he was introducing a menu of true Mexican cuisine on Monday the 14th. When he learned we were leaving on the 14th, he offered to give us a preview on the 13th. The food was outstanding. I especially want to mention Juan, Candi and Luiz for their excellent service. Their Chef, Luiz, also came to our table to receive our evaluation of the meals provided.

We have stayed at the Inn in the past and found the concierge and hotel staff to provide excellent service. The rooms were also first rate. Herb, Gladstone, OR

Room Tip: All rooms face the Pacific Ocean and overlook the pool area and restaurant.

I own a time share at the Inn and I have been coming here since 1995. The staff is excellent and
do everything to make you feel welcome and pampered. Great food, rooms, pools, right on the ocean. Located in the Golden Zone, shopping, restaurants.

Stayed at the Inn at Mazatlan for a week, 2-9 September. Facilities are still in relatively good shape, service is better than most. Location is central to the Zona Dorada although that area is now becoming increasingly vacant....many, many empty storefronts, particularly in the area around Avenida Playas Gaviotas. The fitness center is small but functional. The hotel restaurant is located right on the beach, fantastic view, very good food at reasonable prices for a hotel restaurant. Pool area is nice and is adjacent to the beach.

The hotel charges 84 pesos/day for in room WiFi but the internet service provided by the hotel is unreliable as the server is repeatedly and frustratingly non-responsive. Internet tip: you can pick up a strong internet signal from the Hotel Costa de Oro, right next door. Unlike the internet at Inn at Mazatlan, it's very reliable and the Costa de Oro will sell you 24 hour access to their internet for 25 pesos/day. So don't bother with the hassle of Inn at Mazatlan's internet - use the Costa de Oro's instead.

The hotel has several English language TV stations that are delivered via the DISH network; unfortunately, the signal is unreliable at the hotel and is frequently unavailable. (Tip: several sports bars also have the signal and theirs IS available...it's NFL season ;-)

Pulmonias (open air taxis) are fun but you're paying more than you need to if you take them everywhere; the green Centro/Sabalo bus goes up and down the Zona Dorada and all the way to central Mazatlan for just 10 pesos.

Dear Diplomatico:

We do appreciate your detailed comments regarding your recent stay at the Inn, it certainly reflects many of our strengths and some of our weakness but in addition to that let us inform you that we are presently working on improving our Internet services in order to get a full signal in every room of the hotel, as for the activities outside the Inn it tells you that our location is very convenient for any plan that you might have during your stay.

This was the first time we traveled to Mazatlan, but we loved every minute by staying at this hotel. The restaurant was a great option if you didn't want to venture out. The beach and the ocean view room made our stay even better. We had a very nice time, we stayed the week of August 18th.

Room Tip: Ocean view rooms.
