“Best Sunset in the Pacific”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2013

Unknown for many years, Mazatlan has been the best kept secret for many tourist that come to Mexico.
Why is such a good place to visit? Its a real city, with culture, beaches, nice hotels, good food and very nice and welcoming people.
Prices to eat are insanely low... you can go for diner and have the best jumbo shrimp plate for under 20 dlls!!!! And that is top of the Menu.
Check out the wonderful sunsets from any place of the city but try to watch it from the Malecon (boardwalk), which is one of the world´s longest ones.
To make a long story short, they have perfect weather between late october all the way through late may...
Discover it, I was there first time in 89 and since then I don´t go anywhere else!

“caution is required, but a must see”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2013

this is a fantastic old city, with very spanish feel. I call this a must see for even resort tourists, as it helps you to really feel the places you visit. its not dangerous, but it is mexico so so daytime only, and just be aware.... I felt quite safe during the day. the market was great!

“Another great walk”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013

Loved the energy and great architecture. Shopping, restaurants, "shrimp ladies". Bought shrimp one day and my girlfriend cooked it in the hotel. It was awesome!

“Worth a visit.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2013

When in Mazatlan, a visit to old, central Mazatlan is definitely worth it. The cathedral is pretty and worth seeing. The central market is a blast to go walk around and shop for souvenirs.
