“Hmmmmm”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2014 via mobile

Beautiful, beautiful old building! Service impeccable! Food passable, wine horrible! We sampled 4 different reds by the glass and none were drinkable. I had a beef filet, but by American standards would never pass. Too many other good restaurants to enjoy while in Mazatlan!

“Best meal I have had in a long time!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 20, 2014

We sat at the bar and enjoyed 3 appetizers and 2 entrees between the 3 of us. Each was very flavorful and it rivals any restaurant I have frequented both in ambiance and food quality!!

“Finest. Dining in Maz”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2014 via mobile

Our party of six had an outstanding evening at the Presidio. We reserved for the patio area and found it to be exceptionally pleasant. All staff who served us were professional and worked toward making our evening as possible. David our waiter was very entertaining and contributed greatly to the success of the evening. Not enough can be said about the food as every one in our group was pleased. Three items were described as. Beef fillet never had one which could compare,' Octopus appetizer exotic. Chocolate cake dessert was simply wow. Very nice wine selection and considering the overall experience reasonably priced. Highly recommended. Only negative note is that the oversized patio chairs were uncomfortable for persons under six feet tall, Presidio would do well to improve the patio furniture.

“Great Ambiance, Good Service, Excellent Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2014

When you first walk into the entry courtyard at El Presidio, your impression can only be that is a special place. Located in what was the family home of Chef Diego Garcia, a magical garden restaurant awaits you.

The architect has done an incredible job of taking what was becoming a ruin, and turning it into a space that takes advantage of the existing architecture while integrating modern touches. Excellent use is made of independent spaces like the bar, open patio, and seating areas to create a seamless visual environment.

Chef Diego provides you with a menu that takes classic Mexican cuisine and turns them into original dishes that present beautifully and satisfies the palate. His portions are generous without being too big and the quality is unimpeachable.

The wait staff are professional; attentive yet unobtrusive. For the traveler whose command of Spanish is less than perfect, no worries. All of the waiters speak near perfect English.
While there are more good restaurants opening in Mazatlán all of the time, El Presidio is in my opinion at the top of the class.

“What a way to finalize my visit to Mazatlan!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2014

I had the pleasure again to treat myself and family to one of the best restaurants in Mazatlan. Diego the Chef has wonderful creations on the menu. Deserts were phenomenal as well as costumer service. Thank you El Presidio. I will be back.
