Dear, redwingsf…

Wow! More like an eulogy! What splendid reading...very pleased that you enjoyed all that we and the area have to offer. ..we have worked hard to appreciate our guests and visiting El Cid El Moro should be like returning home.

I am glad to note that our convenient location, facilities and friendly staff exceeded your expectations; it is rewarding to note that our focus on consistency and efficient service is welcome and we will review our approach in delivery and make the necessary adjustments to add more warmth.

You can expect the best in personalized service from the management, both General and Room Division, which takes great pains to make your vacation the best time of your life.
Again, thank you very much for your kind words and your loyalty. We appreciate it and the pleasure is all ours. We look forward to seeing you again!

Really enjoyed visiting Mazatlan, Mexico for two weeks. We stayed at El Cid Beach Resort and found it very nice. It has a little something for everyone. Our room was in the towers. It was a one bedroom suite. It could have used updated appliances, but everything was in workable condition and kept very clean on a daily basis. We did see that other rooms on our floor had new counters and stainless appliances in there kitchens. This hotel has three pools and one Hot Tub. The two larger pools have activities going on all day and they are heated at this time of year. The smaller pool is very quiet, no activities and the water is not heated. The hot tub is a great way to end the day catching up with the people staying at the hotel. Everyone talks about the places they traveled to around the city, tours they went on, restaurants they went to in case you desire to venture off the property. The restaurants on property are very good. If you like to walk on the beach there is plenty of beach to do it on. If you want a challenge take a bus (centro) to the Lighthouse and climb up the mountain to see the view of the view of the city. It was a fun trip. We would return to El Cid Beach Resort in Mazatlan again.

I would like to send out a special thanks to Francisco Renteria the waiter at La Conchita Pool Bar. We were there this past week and he remembered us from March of 2012. He goes over and beyond the normal service. We would sit in his section just so that he could wait on us even if it wasn't the prime location for the sun.

Another individual that stood out was Laticia that worked at the Lobby Bar. She also remembered us from 2 year prior. She would have drinks ready before we even ordered them.

El Cid is also a great resort. Food it good, drinks were cold, and everyone was so friendly. We will for sure be going back again in the future. Can't wait

Dear, Sean A

Thank you very much for this pleasant comment; you can't imagine how much couple of nice words like these motivates the hotel staff! Your appraisal of Francisco & Leticia, while not surprising, is much appreciated. It's so great to hear our staff goes beyond expectations to take care of our guests!

When we see that our everyday efforts make our guests happy so they even find it possible to make us aware of that, it's really great and it's a guarantee that we will continue to do our best to deliver best possible quality.

Thanks again for helping us to serve you better and we will certainly be more than happy to welcome you back!

The El Cid El Moro Beach Hotel was probably the state of the art facility when it opened in Mazatlan. It has fabulous pools, great beach access and all the elements that could make it a truly outstanding resort. The buildings need updating, and some of the procedures could improve transparency to make it a truly outstanding destination. The rooms need updating. We founbd it virtually impossible to get a king sized bed. The various food and tour packages are presented as part of the time share sales practice. I never had the feeling that I could just buy what I wanted. We traveled with another couple. We both opted for all-inclusive packages, but ours allowed different restaurants than theirs. These are minor inconveniences, but when you go to a resort, you don't want to have to make a myriad of choices and not understand which one best fits your needs. The front desk staff is not the most efficient, but everyone else at the hotel was lovely. The employees are hard working and as nice as can be. There is so much potential here. We will definitely go back to Mazatlan. Not sure that we would go back to El Moro.

Room Tip: If I had that tip, I would have used it. It is trial and error.

Dear, jilandlmt

Thank you for taking time out of your day to provide such valuable feedback. I’m happy to read that our pools, beach access and customer service are on your expectations. It truly is appreciated and it gives us an opportunity to improve and correct our services and property.

In other way we wanted to take a moment and show the appreciation I have for all the feedback given and the time taken out to help us improve our service and property. I apologize that your experience was anything less than perfect and I would like to assure you that the aspects of your stay that were not to your expectations will be acted on. Our aim is to not only meet the needs of each and every guest we serve, but to exceed your expectations to make your stay as pleasant and comfortable as possible. We always want to make things better as quickly as we can.

Furthermore the Hotel has been in the process of extensive renovation and refurbishment. I do hope that you choose to stay with us for any future stays, so that we can showcase all of our upgrades and décor changes that have taken place over since you last stayed with us.

We trust that aside from this aspect the service and hospitality of El Cid Moro Beach Hotel is to your liking and I do hope that this will encourage you to stay with us again should your travels bring you back to Mazatlan. To this end, please do not hesitate to contact me directly if I can be of any assistance with your booking or if you have any queries.

We had a wonderful time staying at the El Cid. Several in our group had previously stayed at El Cid Castilla years ago and were pleasantly surprised to see that things seem to have improved since our last visit. We were especially pleased with the extremely friendly and accommodating staff. Ivan X at Conchita is fantastic! He was so helpful and friendly to our entire group. We even spotted him running one evening on the Malecon and he remembered us. Overall, great beach, great staff and just a perfect place to relax and escape the cold.

Room Tip: We were lucky enough to stay in room 2820 which was amazing. Watching the sunset in the private hot...

Dear, Lis100

Thank you kindly for taking the time to write a review. Especially for your nice comments about the pleasant time you have with us.

A guest having a great experience is one of the tools that we have in creating an objective picture to the rest of the readers on trip advisor. I’m happy to read that you found a better hotel, we work for improvements to the last year, even though we have many change to do, we keep working. We know that Mazatlan is a competitive market and we must be on the preference of our customers.

Our hope is that this guest response has pulled the agitated minds of potential vacationers to
El Cid El Moro and will make it easier to choose the hotel as their vacation destination while on Mazatlan.

This was our 1st time to we stayed at El Cid Moro Tower. The experience was something else and this is the 1st El Cid resort where management did not respond to written complaints. You should read my reviews for El Cid Marina and El Cid Granda to do a comparison of management. Memo and his staff made the check in nice and tried to address things as they kept coming up. I will just ignore a review on the Tower at this time and call it a New Year full occupancy malfunction.
The pools are nice and always busy. The VIP pool is a joke and open to all even letting kids [very young] dominate the hot tub, even with tubes. Security is set up to control entry, but it is totally symbolic and not effective at all. The beach has palapas, but they fill early. This is one of the few places were vendors have no problem getting passed the ropes to hassle guests for selling their products. Again security is set up, but they just watch.
I do want to write about the restaurants which were some of the highlights.
Gruta is an 8 table outside restaurant by the pool’s water fall. Michael has a small staff, but his guidance and enthusiastic manner make it one of the best places to eat. It requires reservations, but it is well worth the extra effort to get in.
Alcazar is an Italian restaurant. The atmosphere is great and Francisco does a great job in providing great service. He knew what we wanted when we came in and he was always so pleasant and kept the atmosphere light. The appetizer mushrooms are great. The piano player is good, just a little on the loud side.
El Concha – This was one of El Cid’s premier restaurant in prior years. This year they have changed their menu and things have gone down. Now it is no longer one of the top of our list especially for dinner. The lunch menu seems almost better that your night menu. This is a constant talk at the pool.
La Cascada is a Mexican themed restaurant. Service is good but not at the level of other El Cid restaurants. The food is mediocre at best. Still not a bad place to go for a night out with friends in a casual setting.
La Pergola Theater – This is a buffet. You go there for the show. They are put on by local entertainers and will give you some lengthy entertainment.

Had the best time here this year...we have been coming to this property for many years with the family and had a great, relaxing time. I must say the staff here is exceptional but the sweetest most genuine man is IvanX at the bar Conchita, he is so sweet and here to serve and please. While we were here for 2 weeks he was always the first to come and see what we needed....love him! anyway Mazatlan is a big city but if you are able to come and find the sweet spots you will enjoy! here are a few that we have found:: La Playa Bruha, Casa country ( even looks like a chain but by far the best steak ever...argentinian bone in fillet) hotel jonathan upstairs bar in old town, Phat Phish for ribs, ,and for sure the local Gus Gus on the main strip..good food, music, and cocktails...but remember stop by El Cid El Morro to say hi To Ivan cause he is why i am making this post! xoxo
