“It's Like Coming Home”

Torres Mazatlan Resort

We've spent a week at Torres Mazatlan in 2005 and 2006 and regret not coming back in 2007. We loved this resort! It's a little off the beaten path and that's what made it for us. We wanted relaxation and we got it. We spent most of our days under the cabanas reading, sleeping, enjoying happy hour (you've GOT to try the mango daiquiris!) and cooling off in the beautiful pool.

The rooms are comfortable and well equipped.

Some notes: a taxi ride to and from the airport will cost you $25 each way. There are pulmonias (golf carts) zipping around everywhere, as well as an extensive bus system which stops right in front of the resort. You can ride to the Golden Zone for as little as 5 or 6 pesos. Make sure you find out what the pulmonia driver charges before getting in.

Take the city tour. It goes to El Mercado where the locals shop, a beautiful old cathedral, pearl diving cliffs (like Acapulco).

Thursdays is when the cruise ships come in, so that is a good day NOT TO SHOP! The prices in town go way up. Other than that, Mazatlan is a great place to go.

Like I said, we regret not going back this year.

we have just returned from 2 weeks staying at the Torres and have to say it was just paradise. The resort was as expected, spotless and the staff could not have been more friendly. The only downside was that the bar/restaurant closed 10.00pm every night.
favourite place in Mazatlan would have to be Gus y Gus, great food, atmosphere and music.
If it wasn't for the length of time it takes to get there from the UK {over 25 hours} we would be back time after time. Photos to follow

“Wonderful Resort”

Torres Mazatlan Resort

My Fiance and I recently returned from a week's stay at Torres Mazatlan and had a great time. We stayed in a one bedroom unit in bldg C and loved our room, it was spacious, and had everything that we needed for the week. The pool is georgeous and the hot tub/spa is very spacious. The Resort Restaurant La Palapa is good but not a great value. Torres Mazatlan is located North of the Marina so the cab rides to get into the downtown/oldtown area run from between $10-$12 (before tip) one-way and can be even more at night. The beach was beautiful but the tide comes in so far that there isn't much space to lay out, also there were jellyfish warnings everyday so there isn't much swimming in the ocean. We spent most of our time be the pool so it was of little consequence. There are a couple of things I would recommend, take a city tour one of the first days you arrive, you will get a good idea of the best spots to eat and shop... The seafood is great, try the shrimp bucket and in oldtown by plaza machado try Cafe Pacifico.

While staying at the TORRES MAZXATLAN and using our room number to bill drinks and food to. I was over charged by 847 Pesos about $87.00 US. After discussing this with the bar tender he admitted that it was another person that was ordering drinks for some girls and he offered to just serve us drinks to make it up. After 250 Pesos he deemed that it was all even and when I complained it took 3 days and numerous telling the story to get to the resturant manager ( Lanie) well as soon as I met with her she was COLD , SHORT, and CURT!!!!! She explained that she was not going to investigate this and she said that I was abussive to the staff. I guess not wanting to pay for $84.00 worth of drinks that my party had not consumed was just wrong on my part. If you ever go to the TORRES MAZATLAN use these rules :
1) PAY AS YOU GO!!!! DO NOT CHARGE TO YOUR ROOM
2)SCRUTINIZE YOUR RECIPT EVERY TIME
3) DEMAND TO SEE THE RESORT MANAGER NOT THE RESTURANT MANAGER

We stayed here for a week on our honeymoon. It was our first time out of the US and what a great first experience! This place was gorgeous! The staff was just above and beyond. Location was great too, we were far enough for privacy but close enough for culture and venturing into town. What an experience! The resort had several activities that we participated in. A beach party with "mexican apple juice" shots at entry followed with contests, great food and drinks! You really don't even need to shop because at the beach are lots of vendors waiting to serve you, most people find them annoying but we thought it was alot easier than venturing into the city. We also got to see a sea turtle release her eggs into the sand. The restaurant has the best salsa & chips we have ever had! Oh and their outdoor jacuzzi was gorgeous! I could go on and on about this place! We are definitely going back as soon as possible. We just loved every day at Torres Mazatlan!
